Bruton, Roseburg, celebrated her first birthday May 5 ot a party at her home. Present were her parents and sister and brother, Karen and Billy, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Olson of Sutherlin, and her great-uncle, Martin Olson. A birthday dinner was enjoyed. (Picture by Chris' Studio of Photography). Glide Area Mothers Enjoy Annual Girls League Tea More than 200 mothers attended the annual Mothers Tea held at the Glide High School Multipurpose room Friday. The theme, Oriental Gardens, was effectively carried out by the use of decorative greenery placed to emphasize a delicate shell foun tain flanked by a small foot bridge. A mural of Mount Fujiyama form ed the background of the setting. The foot bridge became the en trance for the style show which featured clothes made or bought by the girls. Climaxing the show was the modeling of a stunning lace wedding gown. Refreshments were served to the mothers by Orientally-clad hostess es. The tea was concluded with the installation of next year's Girls League officers and gift presenta tions to Miss Patricia Mayo and Kirs. Helen Neal as expressing ap preciation for their work with the league. Over-all chairman of the tea was Iona McCord. Pair Complimented At Tea Hosted By Rebekah Lodge A delightful tea was served by the RoseburgRcbekah Lodge Sun day at the IOOF Hall. The oc casioned honored Thella Webber, assembly color bearer, and Glenda Beach, Theta Rho Assembly musi cian. The hall was beautifully decora ted with baskets of spring flowers and a lovely table featuring a can dle entwined with roses and a rose decorated cake enscribed with the honored guests' names. ' Noble Grand Helen Woods pre sided at the coffee urn, and Bertha Lett at the punch bowl. A delight ful program was presented by Lena Poole and Minnie Batton. A song was sung by Margaret and Anne Saunders, with Mrs. Poole at the piano. Others participating in the program were Alice Batton, Sandy McCoy and Stephanie Jelli son. Gifts were presented to the guests of honor on behalf of the lodge and the Past Noble Grand Club. The lovely decorations were done by Velma Herman. Refreshments were served by Fay Jensen, Bea McDonald, Mary Myers, Jessie Thomas, Elsie Mills and Ona Wil liams. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Taylor noble grand of Riddle Lodge; and Mrs. Annabelle Kirk of Coos Bay, who had been initia ted by Mrs. Weber when she was noble grand of the Roseburg Re bekah Lodge.
