The most serums disturbance was at the Brown University cam pus here where 100 police wenr- ing riot helmets and wielding nightsticks used K-9 dogs to herd students hack to dormitories after paoty raids and a noisy march through the city. The other disturbances involved 1,500 students at Brandeis Univer sity in Waltham, Mass., and 1,000 undergraduates at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. A police New 'First Family' Record On Stands By WILLIAM D. LAFFLER NEW YORK (UPI) Vaughn Mender's second record album on "The First Family" is advertised as the last. Perhaps this is a wise judgment. Meadcr is a victim of his own talent. Since Meader made bis phenomenal recording of "The First Family" a few months ago, (here have been numerous inula tors, some very good anil some very bad, but none has had the impact of the voice that sold an unprecedented four million long play records in a few weeks. The new Meader record, issued on Archie Bleyer's Cadence label, "Vaughn Meader and Hie First Family, Vol. 2." is a good one. In some respeets it is as good as (,c first one. But a sequel rarely comes up lo the quality of the paceseller. On the second record, Meadn's voice is slill the best imitation of President Kennedy. And pro ducers George Foster, Hob Book er and Karl Doud were shrewd enough to change the pace so that Vol. 2 would not be just an ex tension of the first recording. The pace changing casts .Mead- er Ml a singing role on 'An r-ve- ning With JKK," being a COtn - mercially staged musical press conference, and "The First Family ni.rnrn 10 uiui m wiser .iinns, wno hit til limnrrs in iml and "r """or " i "- it is dillicull, almosl uniHissilile, In repeat a i majestic perfnrman, ,,l,:e "arris, .Header lias a lOVfll lOllOWIIlg WhlCh Will rC ISll ,nl second anveniiire. adm i d At NEBRASKA NAVY ADMIRAL LINCOLN. They were among 50 persons picked up, the majority of whom later were released. Injuries were reported here and nt Yale. There were no injuries or arrests at Brandeis. Tho Brown demonstration last cd more than five hours, (luring which police reported several fist fights and broken auto windshields from students hurling rocks, uecr cans and bottles. Several students said Ihcy were bitten by the five police dogs and others claimed thev were hit with nightsticks One policeman was struck by a rock, another had his uniform torn, and an unidentified resident was cut by a broken buttle. At Yale, 17 studenls were ar rested and released on $100 bond each. Three others were reported injured slightly. The Elis started their demonstration on the cam pus and marched on Helen Iladlcy Hall, a residence for graduate women students. The Ynleys, chanting "We want sex, were greeted with several articles of lingerie, but they did not enter the dormitory. The demonstration spread lo downtown New Haven where cam pus police were joined by all avail able city officers, including plain dollies detectives. The Elis tossed firecrackers, wa ter bombs and limning rolls of tissue. Two automobiles were tipped over, police said.
