Light potluck refresh ments will he served. Coffee will be furnished. Those attending are asked to bring their favorite card games or other game materials. Just plain "visiting" is also encouraged, PTA spokesmen report. A fun day for the whole family has been set for Sunday, May 5. Anyone willing to help is asked to call OR 2-1349 or OR 2-H60, ac cording to Barbara Culver, ways and means chairman. Dad's Club spokesman Bud Drew urged all dads to come to the reg ular meetings of the club held on the first and third Monday nights of each month. Winners in the recent school Sci ence Fair were announced and spe cial PTA trophies were presented to Jimmie Brown.- second-grader, for his study of cats, and to Don- me Wassom, Intermediate division, for his findings and study on ono square foot of ground. Other Goid Soal winners wore Janet and Juiie Byrklt, second and first grade, respectively; Judith Hall and Gieg Hcbert, second grade; Lonnie Digby, third grade; and Candice Digby, fourth grade. Music for the evening was pro vided by thn Benson-Eastwood Band under the direction of Larry Towns. Mrs. Thelma ' Chine's second grade won the door priie. Baby sitting was provided by Mrs. Isa bella Herring and junior high vol unteers. Attendance Award plaque was won by Mrs. Christine Pace's first grade room. Fair Oaks Grangers Hear Kitchen Report , Work Is progressing well an the new kitchen at the Fair Oaks Grange Hall, it was announced at the regular April Grange meeting. Grange Master Chester Williams said the completion is aimed for in time for the annual Mother's Day dinner sponsored by the Grange oneh year. The dinner will be serv ed May 12 and will bo open to tho public. , . During the business meeting Har ry Read, agricultural chairman, re ported on the problem of dogs kill, jng livestock in Douglas County, and legislative chairman, Elwin King, reported on the proposed tax ation of churches and fraternal or ders, stating that it appears now that churches will continue to be exemot, but that nothing has been decided on the taxing of fraternal orders at this time. Howard Cracroft spoke on the annual Pomona Death Benefit meoting to be held May 5 at the Rlvcrsdale . Grange. Pomona Grange will meet April 27 at Look ingglass Grange Hall, it was an nounced. Juanita Crawford was reported ill and Frank Durkin reported se riously ill at the Veteran's Hospital in Roseburg, according to corre spondent -Mrs. Jerry DeMuth. FISH TURNS TABLES NEW ORLEANS (UP1) - A 60 pound, spear-nosed amherjack turned the tables on New Orleans skin diver Wallace A. Filzmorris, 29, recently when Fitimorris spear ed the fish underwater in the Gulf of Mexico. The amberjack turned around and speared Kitzmorris. A Coast Guard helicopter flew the skin diver to a hospital where he was treated for chest cuts and released. , : ,. ...' ..
