lenge for the 135-pound title.

Ring Magazine lists Kenny No.
10 among lightweight challengers.
The National Boxing Association
has Molina ranked No. 4 among
the junior welterweights although
he can make the 135-pound light
weight limit.

Destruction Derbies
Set For Portland
The sounds of crunching metal
will be heard tonight at the Jant
zen Arena in Portland as the first
jalopy destruction derby of the
1962 season is scheduled for 7:30.
A field of over 75 junkers is ex
pected to swing into action for the
opener. Top drivers will include
Johnny Chase, 1961 champ, and
brother Jim, runner-up last year.
Sunday over 100 jalopies will be
in action in a destruction derby
at the Jantzen Arena. Time trials
will be held at 1:30 p.m. and rac
ing will get under way at 2:30.
The events Sunday will include
three trophy dashes, four heat
races and two main events. The
climax of the action will be the
destruction finale, with the drivers
mashing into one another until
only one car is left running.
