The affair was spon sored without charge either for admission or the tea and nothing was on sale during the two-day event. The idea was started here two years ago by the church wom en to share Christmas with all persons. Members of the church all con tributed to make this two-day event such a wonderful success. Mrs. J. P. Motschenbacher once again acted as general chairman of the occasion. The entrance was marked by a very beautiful Christ mas tree fashioned entirely by hand. The tree, made by Mrs. Motschenbacher and her daughter, Mrs. Donald Gerretsen, took three months to complete and it won the highest praise from the many hundreds of persons attending the Bazaar To Be Held Nov. 14-15 The Woman's Society of the First Methodist uTiy public to enjoy the i bazaar at the church social hall Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 7 to S p m and Wednesday, Nov. IS, all day. Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 11 a m. to 2 p.m. a Merchants Lunch will be served to which the public is invited to enjoy. Chicken pie, choice of salads and homemade pies will be featured on the menu. Booths of every type and de scnpUon have been arranged for this two-day annual event. Timber Town Duplicate Club Has Anniversary Thirteen tables of duplicate play were enjoyed when the major and junior sections of the Timber Town Duplicate Club met Monday eve ning. Special event for the junior section was the beginning of an other year. When the club was or ganized three years ago it was restricted to those with no more than three master points. The points limit was periodically raised until tha fiill.nerieed lunior names limit of 20 points was reached Monday night's anniversary was made that the limit has again been set back to three master points with progressing raises to be re peated. Mrs. Pearl Dielsch and the hostess. Miss Casey. UN Day Observed At BPW Meeting The Roseburg Business and Pro fessional Women's club met at the home of Mrs. Golda Nickell. The program was on the observance of United Nations Day and interna tional relations. The celebration of the anniver sary of the I N has two purposes. One is to make evident and visible our support of the principles and objectives of the United Nations. The second and more important purpose is to arouse interest in the United Nations and to make more people sufficiently informed of the UN as to make their aware ness permanent, abiding and deep rooted. Alvia Wetherall showed pictures and gave a most interesting talk on her trip to Europe.
