LaFIeur Feted At Brunch The evening ind night nursing personnel of the Veterans Hospital entertained at a most delightful brunch Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Umpqua Hotel coffee shop. The oc casion honored Mrs. Sidsel l.a Fleur, who has retired from Uie aervice and who is moving to Los Angeles to live. Those present were Mrs. Alice Bourne, Mrs. Esther Carter. Mrs. Nancy Eaton, Mrs, Lilly Jones. Mrs. Petra Lackey, Mrs. Joan Brunn, Mrs. AJberta Jenkins, Miss Lorraine. Meant and Mrs. Daisy McLean. " : 1 rr-r r-r, OFFICERS of the 1941 Roseburg Senior High School class attending the reunion banquet at the Umpqua Hotel Satur day night included: Mrs. Ray (Dorothy White) Puckett, song leader; Elwood McLaughlin, vice president; Larry Reunion Large Event Satun day The class of 1941 of Roseburg Senior High School held its 20 year reunion at a buffet dinner at the Umpqua Hotel aaturday eve ning. Teachers present were W. M. Campbell, who was superintendent of schools at that time, and Mrs. Campbell; Clyde Beard, who was principal and Mrs. Beard; Leroy Hiatt, class advisor, and Mrs. Hi att; Miss Alice Ueland, class ad visor; Miss Amanda Anderson of Salem, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer W. Grow. Paul Cacy was master of cere monies. Leroy Hiatt gave the in vocation and Miss Ueland told the highlights of the senior year of the class. C. H. Board welcomed the group and "did some remember ing" on his own. Paul Cacy and Elmer Giles called the class roll, introducing the members and then comparing the class prophecy with the present activities of the group. Hildegarde Roselund Piersol read the class poem, which sne had composed. The German band, which played in 1941, including Koyat Denton, Lowell Khoden, Charles Ilincy and Paul Cacy, played two numbers. rriday evening Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sullivan entertained at an in formal gathering for class mem bers at their home at Winchester. Delightful Shower Party Given For Judy Heritage Mrs. Leonard Hansen was host ess at her home in Winston recent ly at a lovely bridal shower hon oring Miss Judy Heritage, the bride-elect of David Burt, whose wedding is planned for September. The ecru lace-covered table was attractively centered by a pink umbrella surrounded by good luck charms. The umbrella was trim med with pink rosebuds, which also adorned the large white sheet cake. i Two Families Reunited At George Bowman Home A reunion was held in Elkton re cently at the George Bowman home for the Bowman and Essel strom families. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Nils Kling and family of Hood River, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Essel strom and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Esselstrom and fam ily of North Bend, Vincent Essel strom and boys of Florence, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Knottage of Bend and Mr. and Mrs. Dick WU ley and family. A lovely dinner was served by the hostess, Mrs. George Bowman. Games were played and the many useful and lovely gifts wera unwrapped by the honored guest. Those attending were: Orpha Kisinger, Sherry Dotson, Frances Wilson, grandmother of the groom elect from Eugene; Jean Heritage, Blanche Peterson, Betty Gubser, Jean Peterson, Sheila Carew, Nita Gilman, Dorothy True, Ruth Turn en, Marie Counts, Doreeu Bratsch, Edna White, Paula Burt and the hostess, Vi Hanson. Girls Club Has Enjoyable Picnic The Busy Bees R We enjoyed a picnic Tuesday at the home of the co-leader, Mrs. Effie Hughes, assisted by Mrs. R. Kischel, lead er. Members presented gifts of ap preciation to both leaders. Three girls who are moving away also received gifts. Songs were sung and games were played. Projects were collect ed for the fair. Those present were Annette Brinkley, Shirley Hughes, Jeanette and Shirley Kischel, Linda and Lu Anna Patterson and Debbie Puckett.
