o o Dixonvillers Visit Washington Areas By JEAN RAACLIFFE Mr. and Sirs. Nick Evanoff and children have returned to their Dix onville home from a vacation trip spent at Washington points. They visited Evanofi's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Evanoff in Olympia. then travelled to Tacoma, where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Nabin and Mrs. Marjorie Peban. They went onto Bremerton to visit another brother, Thomas Evanoff. Mother Visited Mrs. Spencer Johnson and chil dren of Reedsport were guests of her mother, Mrs. Agnes Weber, several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Hoger Sanders and children spent the past two weeks camping out in the Sisters and Bend areas. They camped at Cold Springs several days, where Sand ers went fishing. Before return ing home they toured Peterson's Rock Gardens, then drove to Port land where they were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bor den. Guests of the Gerald Rust fam ily last weekend were his brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jlorgan Rust, and daughters of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Blair of Salem were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kinnard. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Earp and family of the Sunshine Road have left for Oklahoma where they plan to locate. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Miller and Sirs. Norma Jolly of Eugene were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Miller and family. The infection result ed from a cut received while work ing at Nordic Plywood. Parents Visited Mr. and Mrs. Gene Culver of Portland spent the weekend visit ing with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Culver Sr., and his brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Jack C. Culver and family. George Harris and Russell Lov ell spent a day fishing at Winches ter Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Al Fisher and son have returned home from a few days visit with the former's broth er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fisher and family al Bow, Wash., and with friends at Sedro Woolley, Wash. Mrs. Addie Dodson is home again following a month's visit in California with her daughters, Mrs. E. T. Anderson at Maywood, Mrs. Frank Tumolo at Downing, and Mis. E. H. Stovall in H'mtington Park. Other relatives in the vi cinity were also visited. Wins In Contest Jack C. Culver won first prize in the West Coast log rolling con test at the Springfield Cascade Timlierama. Mr. and Mrs. John F. Musgrove spent the weekend in Eugene with their son, Wayne, and family. Their son and daughter-in-law, CaDt. and Mrs. John D. Musgrove, and family have left for Alexand ria. La., after a montn s visit in Sutherlin and TUlamooK. Mrs. Ethlvn Vaale and M r s. Lockie Thompson spent a week at Seaside and Astoria recently. While at Seaside they visited, Mrs. Elsie Richardson and with Mrs. Vaale's sister, Mrs. Jim Holmes at Astoria. Knowles took 17 boys' to Camp Tsiltcoos for a week s outing. Boys from troop 44 who attended were Ronnie Alaquire, Hal Phillips, Da v i d Knowles, David Balfour, Larry Knowles and Fred Cooper Seven boys from Curtin and four from Gunter completed the group going. All boys from troop 44 came home with Tsiltcoos badges to wear on their uniforms. POMONA MEETING SET The regular meeting of Pomona Grange will be held Saturday at the Camas Valley Grange Hall, ac cording to John Landers, master. A potluck supper will be held at 7 p.m. Visiting Grangers are ask ed to bring a salad or dessert and their own table service. Johnston of Australia and won the world championship family accompanied him. Vacationers Return .Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Layer have returned from a 23-day trip that included many interesting scenic areas. Their first major stop was at Salt Lake City, Utah, when they toured the Mormon TeniDle. Na tional parks visited were Bryce Canyon, Zion Park and the Grand Canyon. At Flagstaff, Ariz., they took in the Indian Pow-wow where Indians from all over the world come to display their handiwork and dance their native dances in costumes. At Prescott, Ariz., they saw the oldest rodeo. Coming home through Nevada, side trips were taken to .Virginia City and Las Vegas and a tour of Boulder Dam was taken. They also crossed Death Valley going to Yosemite Park. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Sig' Madson were her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Gallant, and daughter of Bend, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Solberg, and two daughters of Areata, Calif. Riddle Trio Home From Month's Visit Mrs. John Shea and two children have returned to Riddle from northern Minnesota where they spent a month visiting with Mrs. Shea's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gang), and Shea's mother, Mrs. Joe Shea, reports Erma Best, cor respondent. ! Now In Army , Wayne McMillion, a 19151 gradu-! ate. of Riddle High School, has been inducted into the Army in Portland and will train at Ford Ord, Calif. Wayne and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McMillion. spent several days at Diamond Lake before his departure. Dr. and Mrs. James W. Jones and three children have returned from a five-week vacation trip which took them first to Southern California. They visited relatives in Oxnard and Riverside, made a trip to Catalina Island, and attended several major league baseball games. The last week of tlieir va cation was spent in Portland'Where Dr. Jones attended the Federal Aviation convention. Mr. and Mrs. John Mills-Price and children spent a two-week va cation making camping trips to various parts of the state beginning with Ochoco Lake, then coming to the coast near Florence, and to Diamond and Crater lakes. The last few days were spent in Port land where they left their three older boys at Camp Howard near Ml. Hood.
