Rogue Valley Country Club's
33rd annual Southern Oregon Golf
championships are still more than
one month away, but 40 entries al
ready are on file for Oregon's big
gest amateur links event, in Med
io id.
The tourney will be Aug. 30,
through Sept. 4, Labor Day, over
the Medfoid links. Rivalry will
be in men's, senior men's and
women's divisions. This year the
field is limited to the first 420
entries. Other entries will be on
stand by. Aug. 23 is closing date
for filing.
All play this year definitely will
he on the Rogue Valley links. A
new nine holes, expanding the lay
out to 27 greens, will be in use.
Early entries include those of
Lynn Creason, Las Vegas, Nev.,
and Linda Anderson, Olympia,
Wash. Creason won the men's di
vision toga here irt 1958 after two
times as runner-up. Miss Ander
son was a Pacific Northwest ama
teur semi-finalist last year.

Oregon big game hunters are ad
vised by the Game Commission that
the big game regulations are now
available at all license agencies
throughout the state.
The regulation synopses are sim
ilar to those provided hunters last i
vear. listing all the big game sea
sons, tag and permit requirements,
and other rules pertaining to the
1961 hunts.
Hunters will also find a state map
showing the big game management!
units, below which will be found ',
accurate boundary descriptions. A
section is devoted to license and
lagging regulations along with a
brief section covering arms and
ammunition.

at all license dealers as are the

ham. Pa. That left 86 players in
the field. After the second 18-hole
