Frybaek of Portland had as houseguests dur ing the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Secoy of this city. . Mrs. James Hughes, Mrs. L. W. Metzger, Mrs. S. M Moore and Mrs. J. C. McGregor drove to Myr tle Creek Wednesday to attend the Lions card party and luncheon. Mrs. Jamts 0. Knudtion and daughter, Jeanne Anne, have re turned to their home here. Jeanne Ann spent the weekend in Port land visiting her aunt. Mrs. How ard Eggers, while Kirs. Knudtson participated in the bowling tourna ment held in Vancouver, Wash. . Mr. and Mrs. T. Lelend Brown of The Dalles are vacationing in Mexico and expect to stop over here to visit relatives and friends en route home according to word received here. Brown is the son of Mrs. George M. Brown and a brother of Mrs. Orrin Baker of this city. Zuliema Temple, Daughters of the Nile, Roseburg Club, will hold a potluck dinner Friday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Episcopal Par ish Hall. An important business meeting will follow. Mrs. Kenneth E wens and son. Mike and Biff, and Mrs. Carl Col lins and daughter, Elaine drove to Portland Monday. Elaine Col lins was an out-patient at Doern becher Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Hawn of Eugene were in Roseburg Satur day and Sunday attending events of the Lions Club. They stayed at the Umpqua Hotel. While here they visited with the former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Fredrickson. Mr. and Mrs. Hawn are leaving Friday for Hon olulu on a combined business and pleasure trip. Foot hill Drive, following a 12 day vaca tion trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Secoy have returned home after six weeks' ab sence during which time they vis ited in Phoenix, Ariz., with Mr. and Mrs. Giles Ashman. They also visited with their children in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Mrs. Harvey Wells, who . has been a patient at Mercy Hospital for the last month, is now reported to be convalescing satisfactorily at her home at 283 SE Fowler St. She is now able to have visitors call. Mrs. L. E. Adams recently re turned to her home in Roseburg following a trip to Portland to at tend the state conference of the Daughters of the American Revolu tion held March 2, 3 and 4 at the Sheraton-Portland Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gentry and daughter, Joyce, of Portland were weekend guests here at the home of Gentry's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Parrett. Mr.and Mrs. L. E. Moore drove to Portland Friday to visit their daughter, Miss Kitty Moore, who is living with the James Graham family while attending Phagen's School of Hair Design. Miss Moore is a senior student at the school. Harold's Club management in Reno, Mev. has sent special dec orations to the Douglas County Chapter American Red Cross for the Red Cross Dance to be held Monday night, March 13, at 7:30 o'clock at the VA Hospital. . Mr. and Mrs. James Doyle drove to Eugene Tuesday night to visit at the borne of the lalter's sister. Airs. A. C. Lt. and Mrs. Richard C. Steven son of Bangor, Maine, become the parents of a daughter, Billie Ruth, born March 7 and weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces. Paternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stevenson of this city. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mr?. Kenneth Braaton of Corvallis. The young Stevensons are presently re siding in Bangor where L. T. Ste venson is stationed at Dow AFB with the tJ. S. Air Force. He is assistant co-pilot on a B-52. Billie Ruth has a sister, Kennette, 2W. ART ADDED CINCINNATI (AP) Courses in Jewish art have been added to the curriculum at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Re ligion, the tirst time that a school of higher Jewish learning has es tablished accredited studies in this field. ' Mrs. R. J. Dunlap left Wednes day for her home in Klamath Falls, following a visit here with her father, J. B. Patrick, and Mrs. Patrick, and with her brother-in-law and sister, Air. and Airs. Ora Welkcr. Mr.' and Mrs. Virgil Buih, who have been residing on Quines Creek, were visitors here this week and reported they are making plans to move to Grants Pass to be near their daughter. Mr. and Airs. Bush formerly made their home in Roseburg. Dr. and Mrs. M. C. Cassel have returned to their home on SE Kane Street, following two months vaca tioning in Santa Cruz, Calif., visit ing friends including Air. and Airs. Otto Harrah, formerly of Rose burg and later of Salt Lake City and who have now returned to Santa Cruz to live where they have property interests. The Cas sels enjoyed trips to many points of interest during their vacation including a trip to the Hearst pal ace at San Simeon, San Juan Mis sion and Museum at San Juan Baplista, Moro Bay and Carmel. Mrs. Cassel enjoyed attending a Daughters of the Nile ceremonial and visiting the Shrine Hospital for i-nppied Children in San trancis co.
