Common People Touch
Urged By Methodists
CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) -Methodists
were told Meth
odism "cannot win the cities nor
keep the countryside if we do not
identify ourselves more fully with
the so-called common people."
Dr. Walter G. Muelder. dean of
the Boston University School of
Theology, urged members of the
Methodist Conference on Chris
tian Kducation to make a concert
ed effort to reach the laboring
classes, the families with small
incomes, and persons of lower
educational attainment for church
enrollment.
"To this must be added," he
said, "an intensified effort to
reach more persons who are non
white in other ways than through
segregated channels."
"The goal." he declared, "is
adequate Christian experience and
relatedness for all."

Sen. Stuart Symington (D-Mol told
a nationwide farm organization
he will introduce a six - point
farm bill when Congress meets
again in January.
The purpose of the bill, he told
the National Grange, is to bring'
the "family-sued farmer" a re
turn on his investment com- j
parable to returns received in o'il-i
cr segments of the oconomv.
"Since 15L" the senator told
delegates to Ihe Grunge's 9:inl .in-'
nual convention, "while total na
tional income has increased cue i
third, farm income has declined'
one third." lie added "the theory
behind the farm policy of the pres.
ent administration is that !mvrtr
price supports will reduce produc

that the program has -been bail for
