sew new hospital gowns to be sent
overseas to the Albert Schweitzer
Hospital in Haiti. Several boxes of
clothing were packed to send to
White Swan Mission in Washington.

culture Department said today it
sprayed 10.2(10 acres of ragweed
infested lands in Western Oregon
this year.
This includes 8.57 acres in Jo
sephine County. 1.500 in Jackson,
825 in Clackamas, 812 in Marion.

community, in its census, for which
they received 1100.
At a recent meeting of the group,
the treasurer reported a balance of
$2:i8!)5 as of Nov. 1.
Following the business meeting,
William Lewellen, grade school
principal, spoke on "Fifty Years of
Education." Students and teachers
participated in the program which
portrayed the difference in educa
tion 50 years ago and today, and
the average of students who com
pleted high school then and today.
Participants were dressed in
clothes representing the period ttiey
were portraying.

Although Struck By Car
A seven-year-old Glide boy
was knocked to the street by a
motorist Wednesday afternoon but
was reported uninjured after ex
amination by a local physician.

child as Bill v Glassford. He ran
suddenly in front of a car driven
by Mrs. Virginia Lynch. 807 W.
Kenwood St., in the vicinity of
Harvard Ave. and Chatham Dr.,
according to police reports.
Police said Mrs. Lynch stopped
the car quickly when contact was
made and was driving slowly at
the time. The youngster was taken
to a doctor for examination and
released.

automobile stolen at Hood River,
Ore., carried two teenagers on a
wild chase through Northwestern
Arizona this week.
It was halted when a date
patrolman drove his car into the
rear and stalled it.
Arrested were Bill Spires, IS,
and Carl Edward Tuttle, 17, both
of Phoenix.
Patrolman Kloyd Cisney said
they and another youth, Douglas

mitted stealing the car at Hood
