Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mead spent the weekend with M r s. Mead's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Loomis, who were staying in a friend's boat house on Siltcoos Lake for t w o weeks. Mr. John Carrigg, who has been Liking care of the roses on his I farm in Albany, spent the weekend I at home in Garden Valley. Sutherlin Family Attends West Lava Camp Reunion By MRS. Clark of Sutherlin, returned from a camping trip at State Parks near Bend, Oregon and at Bogus Creek Forest Camp on the North Ump qua. llarl J. Clark who is employed as district Clerk for the Forest Service at Big Camas Ranger Sta tion in the Diamond Lake Dis trict, was a guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Clark last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Erick Wattman have had as their houseguests the past two weeks Miss Vera Williams and Miss Ruby Meis from Mt. Pleasant Michigan. Miss Williams is a niece of Mr. Wattman. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rodin from Chicago, III, spent last weekend at the Erick Wattman home. Mrs. Rodin is a cousin of Mr. Waltmnn. The Rev. and Mrs. Wayne Watt man and children, Ricky and Mar garet Jan, visited with the former's parents, the Erick Wattmans on Monday of this week. Return From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Don Barlow and family, returned recently from a i v;eek's vacation visiting with Bar ! low's mother. Mrs. Helen Barlow and sisters, Mrs. I. L. Cline and Mrs. Frank Korhummil and fam ilies, all of Sunnydale, Calif. On their return, the Barlows made slops at Fairyland Park in Oak land, the Petrified Redwood Forest ana Trees of Myrslery. They ended their trip by stopping at Klamath Foils, Ore., for the weekend to visit with Barlow's father, Lester Barlow, and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brown and family, accompanied by Susan Atterbury of Sutherlin, spent sev eral davs last week camping at Winchester Bay. While there, Brown and son, Mike, went deep sea fishing with Wes Topping. Dallas Girl Credited With Saving Four Lives DALLAS. Ore. (AP) A 15-year-old Dallas girl was credited with saving four younger children Wednesday morning in a fire which gutted a two-story frame home here. Frances Shaffer, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clayton, was babysitting with the youngsters while her parents and three other children were picking beans near Independence. When she heard the fire in an upstairs bedroom about 7 a.m., the girl roused her brother, Joey Shaffer, 9, who was sleeping in the room, and led him to safety. Then she re-entered the burning dwelling and rescued Danny Shaf fer, 7, Linda Clayton, 3, and Tommy Clayton, 2. The fire was controlled about a half an hour after Frances turned I in the alarm.
