Mr. and Mrs. Earl Karlingor Sr. and children, Carol, Dean and Earl I Jr., of Estacada are arriving Sat urdy for a visit with Mrs. Kar , linker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Er nest Crane. Mrs. Donna Piper and Mrs. Dale Blanck went to Portland today for the wedding of a former Itoscburg resident, Miss Erdeen Piper, and Donald Bordon of Portland. They will ' stop in Corvallis to pick up Mrs. Dexter Carey and plan to stay in Oswego with Mr. and Mrs. Don Stephens, also former resi dents of this city. Mrs. Jessie Prowell is visiting this week with relatives in Port land. Bruce Yetger of this city has left for Bend, Ore. to attend the stale convention of the Oregon Fed eration of Wild Life. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cat and son, Micky, are en route to Portland, where they will attend the wedding Saturday night of their daughter, Miss Nancy. Mrs. K. L. Wernsine has re turned to her home in Portland, fol lowing the last several days in Roseburg visiting her parents, Mr. and Airs. C. D. Albright. Doyle Prtssnell of this city left Tuesday on the President Cleve land from San Francisco for Hono lulu, where he expects to remain indefinitely visiting relatives and vacationing. Frank Jenkins, president of the Southern Oregon Publishing Co., has returned to his home in Klam ath Falls, following a business trip here to attend to business at the News-Review. Mrs. Fred A. Knight of this city left Thursday for Portland to visit her two daughters, Mrs. R. B. Houser and Mrs. H. J. Watson, and her son, William W. Knight, publisher of the Oregon Journal, and their respective families. Ralph Ohman, owner of the Sun Printing Co. in Roseburg, went to Medford Saturday to attend the Oregon Printers Association of Southern Oregon meeting. There were 35 printers in attendance from Klamath Falls, Ashland, Med ford, Grants Pass and Roseburg Mr. and Mrs, Kenneth Piper of tins city left Friday for Portland to attend the wedding of their ' daughter, Erdeen, and Donald Bor don, which will take place Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred -inster and ' son, Fred, of this city went to Day ton, Ore. over the weekend. Mrs. i Finster and baby remained there for the week and to attend the graduation of her brother, who was ' graduated from Dental College While there, they visited her moth er, Mrs. Irene Clark. They expect to return home this weekend. A. L. Hwn, formerly of Rose burg and now of Eugene, interna tional past director of the Lions; District Governor Larry Sheehan, Rogue River, and Zone Chairman i A. G. (Mike) McLain. Rosebure. will be on hand tonight for the 6:30 ociock Danquet ol umpqua Lions and Ladies Auxiliary annual joint , installation of officers at the Roseburg Country Club. Presenta tion of awards will also be made and new nfficers will be introduced. Pastor W. A. Sylwester of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, has re turned from Portland where he at tended the 40th convention of the Northwest District of Lutheran ; Churchesi Missouri Synod, and where he served on the Public Relations and Publicity commit tees. A report on the convention will be made at both the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Sunday. Mrs. R. R, Clark of this city left by bus Thursday for Port land to spend a few days visiting. Lowell Rhoden, owner of Low ell's store here, will return to Roseburg Saturday, following the last week in Los Angeles on a buy ing trip. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brlggs and sons, 4, 3 and z, nave moved irom Gardens, Calif, to Roseburg and are residing at 2719 SW Lander Lane. Mr. Briggs is employed as a driver for Pacific Inter-Moun tain Express. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Chriss and daughter, Lynn, and sons, Mark and Mike, of Medford, came to Roseburg for the wedding of Jerry Lurry and Janice Tozer. Mrs. Earl Decker recently en joyed a trip to Dallas, Ore. to visit her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Palm, whom she took with her into Portland for the weekend to visit their son, Milton Palm, and his family, after which she returned to Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. Ison Weekly and son, 13, and daughter, 11, are new comers from Coquille and are re siding at 1258 SE Pine St. Mr. Weekly is employed at U. S. Ply wood. Living with the family are John A. Kennedy and his two chil dren, who are also newcomers from Coquille. Mr. Kennedy is a logger. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Garty re turned home Tuesday from Harv ard, Idaho, where they had been visiting their son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hash, and family. While there they attended the wedding of their grandson, Jack Hash. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Garey near Se attle and Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Garey in Corvallis. Mrs. J. H. Wilson and sons. Ken neth, Dennis, John and Jerome, of Minden, Neb., and Mrs. J. E. Saw yer and daughters. Mrs. J. J, Winninger left today for her home in Cody, Wyo., fol lowing a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller on W. Hazel Street. Mr. and Mrs. Roger M. Long worth have moved here from Co- burg, Ore. and are residing at 1014 SE Pine St. Mr. Longworth is with the State Highway department. Mrs. Mae Samstl, teacher at Dillard School, was among those from this area who went to Klam ath Falls over the weekend to at tend the graduation exercises. She made the trip to see her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank (Roberta) Sam sell, graduate with a degree in nursing. Ralph N, Hecathorn, employee of the U.S. Plywood, was able to return to his work this week after suffering a severe electrical shock last Thursday while working. He was hospitalized Thursday and Fri day and then spent the weekend convalescing at his home at 147 W. Bodie St. in Roseburg. A. E. Broadwater and Walter C. Smith went to Klamath Falls Sun day to attend the graduation exer cises at OTI at which time the former's son, Virgil, was graduat ed. The three then went to Med ford where Virgil will be employed. A. E. Broadwater and Smith then returned to their homes here. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Phillip's, who have both attended Oregon State College this last year, are arriving here tonight Jo spend the weekend visiting their respective parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ford and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Phillips. Mrs. Phillips, the former Carmen Ford, will be a bridesmaid at the Dan- chok - Carter wedding Saturday night. The Rev. and Mrs. Russell Grundmtitr and children, Gail and Kay, of Groton, S.D., are expected to arrive in Roseburg Saturday to spend a few weeks visiting Mrs. Grundmeier's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fin ster, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Beckwith. They will be accompanied by her brother, Sp.-3C Duane Beckwith, who is re turning from service in Iran. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Beckwith and a brother of Mrs. Finster. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hampton have returned from 10 days spent visit ing in Idaho and Montana. In Boise, Idaho, they visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and M r s. Merle Hampton, and children, Pa mela, Christy and Danny, and in Helena, Mont., they were t h e guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Ferguson, and children. Steven, Marsha and Ramona. The latter two returned to Roseburg with the Hamptons for two weeks for a visit at the Hampton home and .with their paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson Sr. Mrs. Leo Gillett and her daugh ter, Miss Marion Gillett, left Thurs day for Boise, Idaho. They stopped en route in Eugene to pick up Miss Caroline Prince of Portland, who went on with them to Boise. Miss Gillett will be maid of honor and Miss Prince will be ridesmaid for their classmate, Miss Anna Ros- bergs, who will become the bride of warren Campbell Saturday night. All of the young people at tended Willamette University, and with the exception of Miss Prince, who will be a senior this year, were graduated this spring. Mrs. UUlett and Marion expect to be back here Sunday. Th -Rev. and Mrs. Lowell M. Campbell and sons, Michael Le Rov. Gary Lee and David, of An chorage, Alaska, are expected to arrive here tonight or tomorrow to visit the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Campbell, on SE Main street, lhey nave been in the Last, where the Rev. Mr. Campdell was a delegate from the Presbyterv of Alaska to the General Assembly of Presbyterian Churches, U.S.A. held in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Campbell and children visited her parents in Illinois.
