Lewiston and Wenatchee split a doubleheader, the Broncs winning the first game, 3-1. and Wenatchee taking the nightcap, 6-1. Kugene slapped a 12-8 deleat on Salem while Yakima beat Tri-City. 9-5. Mile Featured In BC Games VANCOUVER, B. C. (AP) The biggest thing to happen hero athletically since Roger Bannister and John Landy chipped a little 'tune off the 4-minuto mile in 1954 is scheduled to begin Friday night with the opening of the British Co lumbia Centennial Games. Athletes from England. Poland. Australia. Jamaica and the United States will help the province cele brate its 100th anniversary year. Naturally, a mile race which shapes up on a par with that 1954 "miracle-mile" is on the schedule, booked as the climax event for the Saturday program. Derek tbbotson of England, whose 3:57.2 is being processed as a world mile mark, will be in it. So will Merv Lincoln of Aus tralia, who has shaved a bit off 4 minutes in three separate races. And Stefan Lewandowski of Po land, another sub-4 miler. And Alex Henderson of Australia, Norman Lloyd and Wes McLeod of Canada and Jack Larson of the University .of Washington, U.S. A will also run in the event. Just as world-wide in scope will be the half-mile, also an opening night feature.
