Sutherlin Grange To
Give Aid To Family
Sutherlin Grange recently voted
to give money to a family that
lost everything in a recent fire.
It waa voted to rent the hall tn
the Catholic Church from June
to 27 for religious school, and to'
rent the hall for mass on Thurs
day evenings. This rent will go to
the burned out family.
Evelyn Frotscher was elected
secretary for the balance of the
year to fill the vacancy caused by
the resignation of Eunice Haslam.
Ellen Beck was elected lecturer
for the remainder of the year.

A discussion was held on clans
for a picnic May 24 at Umpqua
park. The following members were
present for the meeting, Marlyn
Hays, Barbara Garr, DarTene Chan
dler, Linda Moodie, Karen Chan
dler and Shirley Mandero.

been awarded a scholarship and
will attend the 4-H summer school
at Corvallis in June.
Mrs. Chandler thanked all those
who assisted in the doll project
and it was announced that Mrs.
Leta Whilford was winner of the
large doll and the small one went
to Tex Johnson. The money de
rived from this project goes to
ward summer school expenses.
Cookeries Meet
The Cookettes 4-H Club has fin
ished a ten week course in meal
time fun and the group, under the
leadership of Mrs. Betty Harris,
has been learning preparations of
such foods as hamburgers, cocoa
and the preparing of raw vege
tables. The following girls of the club
