Council Approves Program
To Seek Increases In Pay

Workers unanimously approved a
1958 bargained program Wednes
day that would cost employers 31
cents an hour.
It includes a 15-cent hourly wage
increase, an area-wide health and
welfare program that would cost
employers 10 cents an hour per
worker, and additional paid holi
days amounting to 6 cents an
hour.

jury Tuesday when thrown from
his horse, Naboo, in a jam-up on
the first turn at Santa Anita.
Naboo lugged out sharply, un
seating Shoemaker, who wasi

The "Shoe." as he is familiarly
known, spent the night at a hos
pital for observation. He joked
with onlookers as he was taken
