Car Vandals Are Identified
As Top College Students
GLEN DALE. Calif. ( A wave
of car vandalism hit this Los An
geles suburb starting about three
months ago. i -
Someone was going around
wrecking parked automobiles
kicking in windshields and win

was on the trail of the culprits.
When he made hit arrests last

a cake mix fortune.
The basketball players and an
other boy pleaded guilty to mali
cious mischief this week and were
given stiff 170-day sentences in
Glendale city jail. The others will'
appear in court today.
Why did they do it No one
had the answer, although authori
ties and 'parcnls came up with'
aeveral ideas.
The youths themselves didn't
know. Sgt. Broom said one of the
basketball players told him that
one night, when their team lust
a game by only one point, they
went out and damaged two cars
