Prune Picking Prices Same R1CKKEAI.I, I Prune pick ing prices about the same as last year's were set here Monday night at a meeting of about 100 mem bers of the I'olk County Prune Growers Assn. The price will be 20 cents a bushel for picking alone and. M cents for picking as well as shak ing the trees. A bonus ol 5 cents a bushel will be paid to pickers who remain for the entire season. Growers said they expected to get no more and probably less than the S:i0 to S.'i5 paid last year. An average of about $10 was the concensus. The special 12-m'ember commit tee met Jiere Monday to consider the change. The commission is at present a drafting organization and is trying to formulate a Col umbia Basin compact satisfactory to all its member states. As an action-type body the com mission would be able in all probability to take over the Bon neville Power Administration and build ils-own power plants. That is what public power groups in Washington want. Attending Monday's day-long meeting were two representatives each from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and ' Montana, one each from Wyoming and Utah. Ne vada's one representative on the committee wss absent. Presiding was Howard it. Stinson of Idaho Kails, Idaho. Spokane Natural Gas Co. To Ask Rate Increase SPOKANE Nathan Gellert, president of the Spokane Natural (ias Co., sai'l Monday bis firm will file an application with the State Public Service Commission Tuesday for a 20 per cent rate increase, effective Sept. 20. If (he rate increase is approved, Gellert said, about 54 per cent of the boost will he applied to residential consumers, adding about S.'to a year to the average residential bill, which is now about SI 10.
