Charles Skates and daughter, Kitty, left Thursday for Texas to visit relatives for three weeks. Mr. and Mr. W. C. Wingfield and Linda of Alsea, and Kenny Kent of Kccdsporl, are visiting at the home of Airs, I.ueie Hams, mother of Mrs. Wingfield. Denise Doyle and Claudia Bu chanan left Sunday for Camp Fire (iii-ls Camp at Tyee. The former will stay two weeks and Claudia will be gone one week. Imrie Conn has returned to his home in San Jose, after visiting here several days with his sister, Jlrs. Stanley Short, and with his parents. .Mr. and .Mrs. l.oscoc Conn. Mrs. Kay Allen is a new em ploye at Miller's and is in charge of the hat department. She and her hushand, A. D. Allen, operate the Kada Trailer Court on North Stephens Street. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Marsters and Mrs. Clara Alornson drove to Ku gene Friday afternoon to bring home their daughter, and stand daughter, Miss .Myrna Marsters who has been attending the three week music school on the U. of O. Campus. They also attended the concert presented by the students Friday evening. Dr. and Mrs. B. R. Shoemaker entertained a number of guests over the weekend at their home at Winchester. The group, which was returning to the slates from the Hawaiian Islands, included Mr. and Mrs. Lee it. Dawson, and sons, and Mrs. Gordon Miller and daugh ters, Donna, Patricia and Bonnie; son. Anthony, and their Chinese friend, l.on Hook, who plans to visit his brother, a dental student in Cincinnati. Dawson, who was in government TV and Radio work in the Islands for the past 20 years, is being transferred to Washington, 1). C. Miller, also a government employe, is being transferred to Connecticut after being in the Is lands for 28 years. Mrs. Dawson is the former SucMar Shoemaker, a niece of Dr. Shoemaker. Her father, Carl, operated a newspa per in Itosebiirg years ago. The travelers are camping out and ve iling various points of interest, in cluding Lake Louise and Banff in Canada, en routs to their new homes. Anderson, and wife and two children in mov ing from Kugene. W. 11. Ander son, who is associated with Weis- fields, was transferred to Boise and will be credit manager for the firm. Members of the local Auxiliary of Railroad Trainmen are plan ning to go to Eugene Wednesday to attend the auxiliary meeting chore and receive instructions on tlie stale meeting to be held in Itosebiirg Oct. 28. The state meet ing will include lodges from The Dalles. Klamath Falls, LaGrande. Kugene, Portland and Roseburg will) an expected attendance of 200 women.
