Garden Valley Man Elected To Office By ADOIE SCHNEIDER Darro Handy, newly elected pres ident of the FFA attended the sUte convention held monday through Thursday at La grande. Terry Raddatz and Gary Conn went via Portland to attend the convention also. John Michel returned to San 1 Diego, Calif., where he is working and attending night school after spending several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Michel. Richard Goodenough ac companied John to Roseburg to visit his parents and returned to California with him. Dick Claypool, Portland was in the valley over the weekend vis iting relatives. Joann Dunn has accepted em ployment with Dr. Bruce Hetrick. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Walters have returned from a two month's - residence in California where Wal ters did some carpentry work for friends. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Thurlow have moved to 610 NW Calkins road. They sold their farm to Mr. j ana Airs. Aured orjaia and two children of Sacramento. Califor nia who are moving in this week. Camas Valley Family Visit In California By MRS. WM. CUNNINGHAM Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thrush and son, Dwain, have returned home from a week's vacation visiting with Mr. and Mrs, Dee Quintal in Cypress, Calif. Accompanying them was Mrs. Lee Banks, who visited with her mother, Mrs. Ag nes Tabb, in San Pedro. Mrs. Banks also visited with Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Benites in Englewood; her sister, Mrs. Irene T. Perry; and Mr. and Mrs. Al Thompson in Torrance. Mr. and Mrs. J. Clyde Akey and family have returned home from Portland where they have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Akey and where Akey attended the Oregon Education Association Convention held in that city. Mr. and Mrs. Paul DiUard have moved from the Valley and will ' make their Home in Kicnmond, Calif., where ' Dillard is employed. Mr. ana Mrs. uya rope, Mary Helen and Preston, and Mrs. Carl Dahl spent the weekend at Gren ada, Calif., visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dancer and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dancer and families. Jake Robbins returned Saturday to the Veterans Hospital in Port land where he will undergo fur ther treatment. Robbins has been confined to the hospital for some time and has just spent a months leave at home with his wife. Stanley Dancer and his small son. Larry, of Grenada. Calif.. spent Monday night with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. nay uancer, while here on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martindale of Cottage Grove visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. w. s. Mart indale Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ross have moved Is the Valley from Philo math. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown have returned home from a vacation trip visiting in Los Angeles and Sin Francisco. Miss Kay Wheeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wheeler is spending a week's vacation at home from her studies at Oregon State College. An effort is being made by Mrs. James (Welcome) Combs to con tact all persons who attended the first Camas Valley Garden Club meeting held at the home of Mrs. Robert Martindale in 1931 or 1932. The purpose is to construct the history page of the Camas Valley Garden Club scrapbook. Anyone who attended the first meeting please contact Mrs. Combs.
