The family is re maining in Portland over Christ mas, visiting Sabin'i parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sabin, and Mrs. Sa bin s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gutafsnn. Sirs. Elaine Ash. manager of the Red Barn, spent Monday and Tues day in Portland on business and a pre-Christmas visit with her mother and sisters. Representatives of the High School - College Relations Commit tee of the Oregon Stale System of nigner Education, made a visita tion at Glide High School Wednes day morning. Francis Nickerson of Eugene, of the Oregon State Sys tem, and James Boyle of Klamath Kails with the Oregon Technical Institute, spoke to the student as sembly, explaining general college preparation and requirements. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor McCord, Iona Kay, Steven and Allen Kim were returning from Forest Grove last Sunday, Dec. 1, when J year old Allen Kim fell out of the mov ing car. He was rushed to the hos pital in Corvallis. Examination showed no broken bones but he was kept in the hospital for observation and released on Tuesday. The fam ily had attended the funeral of Mrs. McCord't mother, Mrs. Ethel Cooper, who passed away Dee. 11. Elkton School Gym Installations Made By MRS. ARIEL HUBBARD George Bowman and Jim Haines have been installing back-boards and supporting frames above the bleachers in Elkton High School gym for use as cross courts for basketball practice. . Dinner Held The annual Christmas dinner for high school students, teachers, and their husbands or wives, the school board and other school personnel was held today at noon. Gifts were exchanged among the students. Recent visitors at the Del Dun- gey home were Dungey'a parents from Scapoose. Tommy Hescock, student at Elk ton High School is ill in the Sacred Heart Hospital. He has been re ported doing better, and hopes to oe nome soon. Mrs. Orlin Palmer was in Port land over the weekend to visit her mother Mrs. R. R. Wells who is critically ill in a Portland Hospital. Dr. Lydia Emery gave a talk, titled "For All Children." She also gave an account of her work in the Good Shepherd Home is Pennsylvania several years ago. A group of second and third grade children, accompanied by Mrs. Mathis, Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Issar, sang several numbers, ac companied on the auto harp by Mrs. Emery. Featured in the pro gram were Christmas greetings from different countries. Following the meeting, Christ mas refreshments were served by Mrs. Eric Stenseth and Mrs. Dan Wright. Exchange of gifts and a dance followed to which guests had been invited. The most important business transacted at the meeting was an announcement by the honor queen elect, Sally Jo Thompson, of the names of her appointive officers. They are: senior custodian. No- nie Smith; junior custodian, Shar on Miller; musician, Donna Stev ens: first messenger, Vickie Hays; second messenger, Kay Edson; third messenger, Janet Nicholson; fourth messenger, Rowena Miller; fifth messenger, Diane Cleveland; inner guard, Marilyn Harris; outer guara, muarea nays; uorarian, Marv Ann Johnson: treasurer. Georgia Mill; recorder. Kathie Cleveland; chaplain, Mary Pate and lady of lights, Rene Young. The names of elected officers, as announced at the previous meeting are senior princess, Beverly Cox: junior princess, Jean Fachet: guide Linda Humphries and marshall, Sally Johns. The installation of the new of ficers will be held at the Masonic Temple Jan. 12. An initiation meet ing will be held Jan. 7. Following the meeting and par ty, the girls served cookies and punch to members and their guests. By ROSA HEINBACH The children's books which were donated to the Dillard elementary school by Mrs. Mona Hult when she moved to Eugene, are now available for use in the school. They are on display in the lunch room where the teachers and stu dents may check out an entire set and take them to their room for study. Plans were made for the club members to help with the X-ray Unit in Glendale this week and also with the well-child clinic. Glendale Masonic Officers Elected Officers of the Glendale Masonic Lodge were elected and installed last week at the Glendale Masonic Temple. Eastern Star members were in vited to be present for the installa tion and for a refreshment period which followed. Pictures were tak en of those officers who had par ticipated in the formal dedication of the temple Oct. 13. New officers are as follows: Worshipful master, Henry La Prath; senior warden, Herb Reed; junior warden. Bill La Prath; sen ior deacon, Robert Adsit; junior deacon, John Dillen; treasurer.
