Baptismal Service Scheduled Friday The meeting! at the "Voice of Jouth" auditorium. Military and Impqua streets, confine, well-attended ai Elder Don Gray present a different Bible topic each Sun day, Tuesday, and Friday evening. Last Sunday evening a pnre wai given to the one having the larg est number of relative! present at the meeting. This prue was pre sented to Grandma Lang who had 26 relative! present. Her prize was a book. Friday evening the service will begin at 7 30. The topic for the evening will be, -The Sin That God Lannot Forgive." according to El der Walter Riston, pastor of the local Seventh-day Adventist con gregation. The service will be pre ceded by abaptismal service. According to Elder Gray, his sub ject will be "The Jewish Riddle Solved." Elizabeth Martin Rites Set Friday Ladies Auxiliary Plans Tuesday Dinner The Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen will hold it! annual Christmas din ner and regular meeting Tuesday. Dec. 11, at the parish hall at 6 p.m. Members not contacted by com mittee! are to bring a salad. Mem bers and their families are in vited. A family has been adopted by the auxiliary for Christmas. Each member, not already contacted, is asked to bring a game, candy or non-parishable fruit, or a food item for the family. These gift! should be wrapped and marked as to contents. Jay Ryerse Due Here Saturday Jay Rerse, Eugene, will act as master of ceremonies at the Doug las County Council of Epsilon Sig ma Alpha Sno-Ball Dance Saturday. The semi-formal Christmas dance will be held at the Elks Club starting at 9:30 p.m. A queen will be chosen during intermission by judges Ryerse. Jack Foster and George Brown. Worthy Matron and Pa tron wilt be Myrtle Olnracheid and Ralph Cooper who will preside. Pfc. Dale JoshTakes Part In Testing Program Pfc. Dale A. Josh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Josh of 960 Gar den Valley Road, Roseburg, par ticipated in amphibious ship-to-shore maneuvers with the 9th Ma rine Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division on the volcanic island of lwo Jima. The maneuver, which took place in November, was part of a con tinuous testing program of the Ala rum corps. The official Commonwealth Ga zette listed their names today im! those granted naturaliza tion certificates. Elizabeth Naomi Martin, 71, died early Wednesday morning at a Koseburg hospital. She was born at Hammond, WX, July 21. 177. She lived at Utue calls, Minn., for many years and came to Oregon in 1930. The family moved to Sutherlin in 1944. She was a member of tht Mis sionary Baptist Church of Union Gap. Surviving relatives include her husband, Allen, of Sutherlin; five sons, Martin Hammond of Port land. Clarence Hammond of Su perior. Wis., Arthur E. Hammond of Sutherlin, Robert H. Hammond of Seattle and George H. Hammond of Chreholm, Minn.; three daugh ters. Lurlie Morgan of Seattle, Wash., Helen H. Pearson of Su perior and Grace E. Campbell of Seattle: her stepmother. Mrs. M. B. Findley of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Helen Eider of Sta ples, Minn., and Carita Nystrom of Worthington, Minn.; 37 grandchil dren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled ' Friday at 2 p m. at the Missionary ( Baptist Church. The Rev. Wolsey Griffin of the church officiating. In terment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery. COLONEL ARRESTED JAKARTA An Indonesian press agency report said Col. Zulkifli Lubis, former army dep uty chief of staff, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of plotting to overthrow the government. It gave no details. An army spokes man refused to confirm or deny the report.
