Returns From Trip

Mr. and Mrs. Don Nuzum and
son, Don Jr., and Mrs. Nuzum's
father, Carl Cassidy of Tenmilc,
have returned from Artesia, Calif.,
where they visited Nuzum's aunt.
Virginia Price. They also visited
Nuzum's brother, Jim Nuzum,
who is stationed with the A i r
Force near Los Angeles. They
also stopped at Disneyland and
other points of interest.
Mr. and Sirs. Warren Painter
have as their house guest, Mrs.
Painter's sister. Mrs. James Cham
bers and daughter, Debra, of New
ark, Calif. On Sunday the Painters
had as their dinner guesU, be
sides Mrs. Chambers and Debra,
Painter's brother David, who is
stationed at Treasure Island with
the Navy; Mr. and Mrs. Lyman
Painter of Dillard, and Mr. and
Mrs. W. C. Baise ef Roseburg.

Body Completed Monday

will hold a dinner meeting at 6:30
p.m. in the Myrtle Creek School
cafeteria on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Meeting Set
The L'mpqua Valley League will
hold its quarterly meeting for
teachers and principals at din
ner meeting to be held at 6:30
p.m. on Wednesday, Nov, 28, at
the Myrtle Creek school cafeteria.
The Myrtle Creek school board
will hold a special meeting at 8
p.m. Nov. 28 at the primary build
ing. Myrtle Creek school students
will have Thursday and Friday off
for Thanksgiving vacation.
The Myrtle Creek PTA again
cancelled their high school open
house night that was to be held
Nov. 27, because of the County
OEA dinner that is scheduled for
that night. No new date has been
set as yet, announced Mrs. Sail,
president.
Myrtle Creek PTA executive
board members will meet Nov. 29
at 8 p.m. at the home of Alec
Reibcr.

In Camas Valley

Mrs. Dallas Fisher of Eugene
spent the weekend visiting at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Bark
er. Dinner Guests
Dinner guests Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. William
Schmidt were Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Pullen of Coquille. The
Pullens formerly lived in the val
ley, having moved to Coquille
about 15 years ago. Mrs. Pullen
is a sister to Mrs. Schmidt.
Recent visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Martindale
were their son and daughter-in-law
and family. Mr. and Mrs.. Jim
Martindale of Cottage Grove, and
their son-in-law and daughter, and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lib
by of Eugene.
Mr. and Mrs. John Stone have
returned to their home in Pierre,
S.D., after a vacation in the val
ley, and stopping at points of in
terest along the Oregon Coast.
A report has come in from Mrs.
Oral Sallee that her rhododendron
bush is in full bloom, after having
several hard freezes in the valley.
Red Rose Girl Scouts
Plan Special Ceremony
Members of - the Red Rose Girl
Scout troop made final plans for
their investiture ccremonv that will
be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 7:30
p.m. in the Myrtle Creek High
School homemaking room.
Families and friends of the Girl
Scouts and members of the spon
soring organization, Thacker Wal
lace VFW Auxiliary, are invited to
attend the ceremonies.
The girls plan to hold a baked
food sale Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. to
earn money for their Christmas
craft projects.
