Miss McLaughlin was graduated
from the Glendale High School last
spring is now employed at the
South Umpqua Bank in Canyon-
ville. Brown is a senior at the
Glendale High School.

bers present. Volunteers were ac
cepted to take the school census
during the week of Oct. 22.
Extensive plans were made for
the main project of the year, the
school carnival, which will be Oct.

Mrs. Dwight Rutan, membership
chairman, announced there would
be a membership contest with a
prize to the room having the great
est increase percentane at the end
of the contest, Oct. 31.
The October meeting of the PTA
will he hold Wednesday, Oct. 17,
at 7:30 p.m. The short business
meeting will precede the regular
monthly meeting of the Roseburg
School Board of Education which
will be hold at Green School. The

The project was, "Salads." A
number of salads were made by
the leaders and served for lunch
to 17 members.
During the business meeting,
conducted by Mrs. Mary Lee. pres
ident, leaders were selected for the
various unit projects for the year.
The following committee chair
men were announced: Member
ship, Grace Crouch; hospitality,
Mrs. Gary Roberson: luncheon.
Mrs. Noil Burpee; publicity, Edith
Dunn: 4-H clubs. J.mct Manning;
ACWW. Mrs. Neil Burpee; health

search. Ruth Bunch.
It was decided to hoid a Christ
mas party at the home of Mrs.
Gordon LaMotte Dec. 11. During
the Nov. 13 meeting the subject.

will be presented by the couniy
agent at 10:30 a.m. at the Cala
