Smith, employed by the Robert Dollar Company in Glen dale, was injured Aug. 6 when he attempted to hook a log on the cold deck, slipped, and fell on some rocks, receiving abrasions and con tusions of the left lower chest and ribs. Injures Hand Ben J. Corwin of Glendale, cm ployed by the Dollar and Patterson Company in Glendale, was injur ed Aug. 3. He was feeding a planer when a board flew and knocked his hand against an iron guard. He suffered abrasions and bruises but no fracture. Dcbra Gayle and Candy Lynn Cooley of Grants Pass spent last weekend visiting with their grand parents, the Richard Derrigs, in Azalea. Several parties of Glendale and Azalea people fished .at the coast last wekend. D. R. Densley, Ralph Murphy, Bill McNulty, and Paul Newman make up one group, while Dell McDiarmid and family of Glendale, his father, C. McDiar mid of Grants Pass, and an uncle made up another. All went to Win chester Bay. The R. B. Chitwood family of Azalea and Mrs. Chit wood's mother, Mrs. Ruby Duck- Austin Pitcher Visits In Glendale By MRS. GERALD B. FOX Austin Pitcher of Eugene and formerly of Washington, D. C, for many years a geographer for the National Geographic magazine, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Miranda in Glendale for a few days last week. Other recent guests at the Miranda home were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Newman of Port land who are making an extended vacation trip through the north west and then back east. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Butts of Em pire visited recently with her sis ter, Mrs. Grace Powelson, and family in Glendale. They also vis ited with a brother, Bill Chastain in Grants Pass, then drove down through the Redwoods before re turning home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eldenburg and son, Bob, have arrived for a two-week visit with his mother, Mrs. Theresa Elrtcnburg, and with his k inter. Mrs. Esther Cnrlnck and family, in Glendale. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fisher and children of Glendale have returned from a week spent visiting with her sister, Mrs. L. S. Weeks, and fam ily, and with her mother, Mrs. Julia (lilland, in Pleasonton, Calif. Mrs. Giltand, a former Glendale resident, returned with the r ush ers for a visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Berry Jr. and five year-old daughter, Pa tricia, are in Glendale visiting with his parents. Mr. and .Mrs. Floyd Berry Sr. The younger man will undergo major surgery in Mcdford sometime this week. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold hates of Opal. Ark., are visiting with their daughters, Mrs. Harold Davidson and .Mrs. Bob Bowden and their families and with her sisters, Mrs. Kiley Furlong and Mrs. Pierce Fur long, all of Glendale. .Mr. and Mrs. Monte Bates atid family returned Monday from a week's vacation spent partly at Lincoln Beach and partly in visit ing with his sister. Helen Bales in Portland and with his brother, Tom Bates, and family at Hamp ton. Ore. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Sutch and family of Mcdford, formerlv Glen dale residents, visited with his brother, Steve Sutch, and family in Glendale last Sunday. Gary Sutrh. 8, went back with them for a visit. Emory Sutch was injured in an accident in Glendale four years ago, and is still unable to work. He walks with crutches but is able to drivu a car. He plans to return this week for prob able surgery. The Rev. and Mrs. W.ayne Watt man and son, Ricky, have returned from a month's vacation trip to Superior, Wis., where they -visited with Mrs. Wattman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Secgcr Swanson. and I with other relatives and friends. They drove through Canada part of the way East and through the states on their way home. Tom Lawson of Glendale, who has been recuperating in Portland following treatment there, was scheduled for a check-up this week.
