Kansas Village Conducts Contest For Whistlers RICHLAND, Kan. I Thij eastern Kansas village may have the whistlingest small fry in the country, thanks to Sirs. Georgia Neese Clark Gray, former treasur er of the United States. She likes the cheery sound of whistling. A while back she de cided there wasn't enough of it, especially among the younger set. So now every Saturday after noon, when farm folks come to I town for shopping and chit-chat, you can see a' flock of youngsters strutting importantly up and down main street whistling their heads off. A judge is posted along the route, and the two best whistlers get a silver dollar each from Mrs. i Gray. County sanitarian, was in atten dance at the 20th national Educa tional Conference and Sanitation Products Exposition in Chicago last week. The conference and exposition, sponsored by the National Assn. of i Sanitarians, was held at the Mor rison Hotel. Baker joined several hundred sanitarians in federal, state and local health agencies and in pri vate industry at the conference. He reported that the conference gave sanitarians an opportunity to learn new inspection techniques, new methods of education of food handlers and others serving the public and permits sanitarians to gain helpful ideas for the com munity based on the actual exped ience of other sanitarians from oth er parts of the country.
