Teachers Attend Summer Sessions

AMONG THE MANY teachers of Roseburg School District No. 4 attending special
summer school sessions and going to summer workshops are the five appearing on to-;
day's society feature page.
GETTING HER master's degree recently is Mrs. Holden (Corinne Harpham) McTaggart,'
upper left, who obtained the degree in home economics from Oregon State College.
Mrs. McTaggart also took a special tailoring workshop course at the college this month:
She teaches home economics ot Roseburg Senior High School.
OFF TO the University of Guadalajara for six weeks study is Miss Joanne Bolsinger, up
per right, Fullerton fifth grade teacher, who will study Spanish, Aztec history,- silver
craft and will enjoy a number of field trips to several villages, besides spending a week
vacationing at the Ruiz Hacienda ranch.
A SPECIAL WORKSHOP for high school coaches was attended at University of Oregon
by Coach Bill Harper of Roseburg Senior High, center right. Harper is basketball coach
at senior high.
WORKING FOR HIS doctor's degree is R. Cloyd Riffe, lower left, who expects to get
that degree in music education from University of Oregon by June 1957. Both he
and his wife are teachers, at Roseburg High School and Cloyd is supervisor of vocal
music for District No. 4.

ATTENDING the Choral Directors Clinic conducted by famed Roger Wagner at the Col
lege of Puget Sound in Tacoma was Robert Robins, lower right, who studied repertoire
with clinic chorus and attended the seminar on special problems and techniques. He
was also a delegate to the NEA cqnvention held in Portland this month. Bob is choral
music director for Roseburg High School.
