Local News Hr On Business Hank Rob erts, sales representative for Ore gon State Motor Association, left Friday for his home in Eugene, following a stay here attending to business. Here Two Days Glen Howe of Portland and J. Ciltington, na tional field representative of the American Legion with headquar ters in Los Angeles, spent Wed nesday ana mursaay in Koseburg on business. - Return Home Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Marsh of Med ford came to Roseburg last Sunday to attend the Elks picnic at the Rod and Gun Club grounds and to visit their nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Crafton. Go To California James Bew ley and son Jimmie and daughter Mrs. Glenn Tigner and two daugh ters left Friday for a two week vacation at Balboa Beach in south ern California. Bewley is a mem ber of the Roseburg fire depart ment. Go To San Francisco Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Heiliwell of this city left today for San Francisco on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mrs. Heiliwell is one of the owners of KRXL radio station and Heiliwell is with Lockwood Motors. Loaves For Home Mrs. Clark Leedy, the former Meredith Jen kins, left today for her home in San Francisco following the last three weeks vacationing here and visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jenkins. To Coos Bay Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barnes and Mrs. Anna John spent last weekend in Coos Bay vis iting the Barnes' son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Messinger. They also went to Sun set Beach. To Eugene Mrs. Etta Swanson was in Eugene last Saturday. She had a medical check-up and was informed that she might now walk without crutches. Mrs. Swanson in jured her hip in a fall last Janu ary. Returning From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Christensen and sons. Jeff and Brad, are returning to their home in Roseburg this weekend, following the last three weeks vacationing and visiting rel atives in Butte, Mont. Christensen is photographer for the Photo Lab. Roseburg Grower Named On NW Pear Assn. Board YAKIMA 11 The board of di rectors of the Washington-Oregon Canning Pear Assn. said after ? meeting with canners in Yakima that the demand for the fruit this year will be excellent. The directors met with repre sentatives of all pear canners in the Northwest, who negotiate on an independent basis.
