To Los Angeles Miss Carolyn
Cornilsen, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Cornilsen of Happy Val
ley, left Tuesday for Los Angeles
to visit at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Sichting and their daugh
ter, Donna Rae. She will attend
the graduation ceremonies of the
latter from Southgate High School.
Miss Sichting will then return
here with Miss Cornilsen to visit
for an indefinite time.

of July to establish their home

To Address Convention
CHICAGO Wl Former Presi
dent Truman will address the
Democratic national convention
after the party's presidential nom
inee has been chosen.
Paul Butler, the Democratic na-
tional chairman, announced that
Tuesday and said that a place on
the program was "in accordance
with his (Truman's) own wishes."
Butler said Truman didn't say
why he wnted to take the platform
after the nomination had been
made. But Truman has said he is
a neutral so far as a preference
among the contenders for the nom
ination are concerned.
The convention will open August
13 in Chicago.

I Break In Water Supply
Results In Law Suit
BAKER UI A break in the
city's reserve water supply reser
voir at Goodrich Creek last month
has brought a $6,000 damage suit
against the city.
Richard C. Marshall, a farmer
whose land was flooded, brought
the suit, alleging failure of the
city to inspect and repair the dam.
The suit is expected to set the
pattern for a number of other
farmers.
