Reports Claim Mindszenty Is Jailed Again ROME m The official organ of Italian Catholic Action reported Wednesday that Josef Cardinal lindszetity, Roman Catholic pri ..iate of Hungary, again has been jailed by Hungarian Communist authorities. The newspaper, II Quotidiano, said its information on the card inal came from a reliable source The Catholic publication said Cardinal Mindszenty was taken to Felsopeteny, a hamlet near No giad, in Northern Hungary, and "now is again in jail." It expressed belief he was taken there because he had refused to sign a statement "recognizing progress made in recent years be tween the Hungarian state and the Roman Catholic Church." Reports circulated last week in Vienna that the 64-year-old card inal again was under arrest. They were denied by the Hungarian legation there. A" communique is sued by the legation said the card inal still is "subject to measures decreed by Hungarian authorities last summer." A Hungarian court ' convicted Cardinal Mindszenty of treason in 1949 and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The conferences is being staged to inform physicians of the latest findings helpful in diagnosing and treating cancer. Cancer strikes many different body organs, and some experts consider it a variety of different diseases in its various forms. Others think it might have a com mon cause, from a virus or some thing else. Single Drug Inadequate One view is there is little hone that any single drug could affect aomber, like penicillin hits num erous bacterial diseases. Scieniists have discovered dif ferences ia the microscopic ap pearance of various cancerous cells compared with healthy ones. And they have detected some dif ferences ia the chemical makeup or chemical appetites of cancer ous compared with oesishy cells. Speaking oa this, Dr. Haddow said these clues might yet show some ouierenee common to all cancerous cells. He said, "We can not exclude the possibility of a penicillin-like drug." Some animal tumors have been cured by drags, he said. And many different chemicals, and ra diatsoiss, can produce cancer.
