Firemen from six different de partments answered the call. Company officials said that the fire destroyed the control shed and fan-drive motors for the two kilns in the building. No estimate of the damage cost was available. If the fire had spread, it would have endangered the Kalpine plv wood mill, the only plywood plant in the county. Hunt went to San Francisco in January to work. 1 Surviving are a daughter, Char lotte Croshong, Florence; two sons, Kenneth Hunt, Salem, and Richard Hunt, Coos Bay. While in Roseburg, Hunt worked as a welder for the Southern Pa cific Co. A Rosary will be said for him Friday at 8 D.m. Funeral services will be held at Mill's Funeral Home in Coos Bay Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in a Coos Bay Cemetery. "We're going to knock the Ida ho Power Co.'s three-dam project into a cocked hat," said Sen. Kerr (Okla). Sen. Military officers already have taken over direct command of the capital's police. Violent outbreaks throughout the city Wednesday night forced a 12-hour suspension of streetcar service. When the cars began moving again Thurs day morning, a policeman armed with a light machinegun was post ed on each one. Sporadic student attacks on the streetcars have been occurring for a week. They developed into ser ious riots Tuesday night. Wednes- uoy nignt almost tne entire city was thrown into turmoil when po lice battled mobs of demonstrat ing students. Scores of students and many passersby were wounded at least two by bullets, it was reported reliably. Police said 32 persons were sent to hospitals after the brawls and one policeman was near death from his injuries. Crawford when a psy chiatrist testified he couldn't tell whether Valentine is an addict. Valentine was in the news two years ago when he was charged with abducting a Portland house wife in a ransom plot that went wry. He was acquitted and later went to the stale hospital for treatment of narcotics addiction. Soon after his return from the hospital he was arrested.
