Stephens Two Power Dam Projects Opposed By Sportsmen FA'GENE Opposition to two proposed Oregon hydroelectric ! projects was expressed here this lujek by directors of the Isaak Walton League of Oregon. Representing 32 chapters in the state, the directors went on record against Eugene's proposed Brav er Marsh project on the upper Mc Kcnzie River and against the Pel ton dam project on the Deschutes River, contemplated by Portland General Electric. The directors expressed support for initiative legislation to prohibit salmon netting in coastal streams south of the Columbia and sup ported amendments to the Met calf bill which would return to Congress authority to grant oil ex ploration leases on wildlife refuges. At present, this authority has been delegated to the Interior Depart ment. Kollin Bowles, state Izaak Wal ton League president, said he will go to Washington lo represent his group at the March 21 congres sional hearing on Senator Neubcrg er's bill to revoke Eugene's license to build Beaver Marsh.
