Lnn, rke 2-1302 or 3-4S19 VALVE GRINDING MOTOR WORK BODY AND PAINT WORK DO IT YOU OK WE'LL OPEN 8 A.M. TO 10 P.M. i By MRS. ARTHUR SELBY ! Calvin Middleton, Glide High School librarian and biology in structor, stated that the high ' .school library has enjoyed an ui-j : creased patronage and a notice-1 i able increase in circulation during i the first semester. ; I Total circulation of titles for the i first half of the school year has been 2,310 as compared to 430 for , the same period last year. 1 Part of the increase is due to the fact that the high school lib rary now serves the seventh and eighth grades in addition to the: jfour grades of the high school.' 'Approximately 320 students are j served by the library. , ! The addition of some 300 new ! books has increased the attractive-; i nes of the library to students who enjoy books. Middleton said. In an effort to determine the advisability of using book jacket covers and keeping the attractive colored jackets on new books, the library conducted an experiment with a number of books so cover ed and an equal number without jackets. Both groups of books were marked so that library assistants could recosnize them. At the end of nine weeks circulation, the cov- ered books had a total circulation! of 227 while the others had a cir-l culation of only 54. Aside from in creasing total circulation, this en ables more frequent usage of such books. Group Mtots The Soamsh Group of Glide Camp Fire Girls held it's first meeting of the year Thursday.
