Tay lor is convalescing at her home after recent surgery. She is getting along alt right and can see visitors. A lovely turkey dinner was en joyed at 1:30 Thanksgiving Day at Ihe home of the Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Brittain. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. David M. Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ruga worm and children spent Thanksgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gold en who reside on the Roberts Creek Road. Thanksgiving Day dinner guests at the Harry Baird home were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Russell of Talent, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wells of Roseburg. The Bruce Ferguson family join ed members of Mrs. Ferguson"s family at a Thanksgiving reunion held at the home of the Delmar Murphy of I'mpqua. Mr. and Mrs. LandiS (Curly) Vaale had as their Thanksgiving dinner guests, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Woody Sr., of Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Woody Jr., of Reedsport, Mrs. Pearl Malone and Gus Glis trap. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stark enter tained recently at a party at their home on Fisher Road. Following an evening of games and dancing a midnight buffet was served by Mr. and Mrs. Stark to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Grensky, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Grensky and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Grensky of Myrtle Creek. Over 250 persons attended the Thanksgiving Rally at the Penta costal Church of God, 327 Sweet brier Ave., Roseburg. Young people from all over the Northwest met at the Roseburg church for a two-day session. The district includes Oregon, Washing ton and Idaho. The Rev. H. I.. Powers, district president of the Pentecostal Young People's Assn., was in charge of all the services. Thanksgiving dinners were held both days of the meet. The host pastor, the Rev. D. D. Mitchell, wishes to thank all who contributed and made the rally possible, From North Bend Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davihon and children Deborah, Daniel. Rhoda, Philip and Rebecca of North Bend visit ed recently at the home of Eu gene R. Holcomb of Kellogg. Residing Here Dr. and Mrs. Joseph I.anspa have moved from Tecumseh, Nehr , to Roseburg and are residing at 2172 Foothill Drive. Dr. Lanspa is on the medical staff at the Roseburg YA Hospital. Return From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. V. K. Holcomb of Kel logg returned this week from a I month's vacation trip. They travel ed by car and visited relatives in Idaho, Kansas and California. They will return to Rose 1 burg Monday. Funeral Held Today Funer.il services for the Rev. Andrew Chase Starmer, former Roseburg resident, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Fisher Funeral Home in Albany, according to word received here. He was a bro'lier of Sam Starmer, formerly of this city and now of Bandon. Besides ! his widow, he is survived by sev eral sons and daughters. Condon Man Succumbs To Accident Injuries ! HERMISTON Clifford Wav erly Harris, 71, Condon, died in a hospital here Monday night of in juries from a collision on Highway 730 earlier in the day. Stale police said his car appar ently skidded on the wet pave- i merit, about two miles this side j of the state line, and collided with i a freight truck. ! This knocked off the truck's fuel tank, which skidded down the road and hit a car driven by Mavnard A. Detmer, Walla Walla. A mo ment later a car driven by Mrs ! W. F. Haun. College Place, Wash., skidded into the rear of Detmer's car. The truck driver, Ray R. Ear sen, 3o, Salt Lake City, was bruised, but the others were un hurt. I It was Ihe 22d traffic fatality of ' the year in Umatilla County.
