One of the highlights of their trip was a visit to the Carls bad Caverns in New Mexico. Visitors at the Bob Biilick home were Mr. and Mrs. Bern Goodrich and Mr. and Mrs. Al Rose. Guests at the Warren Billicks are Mrs. Billick's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Ms. John Eich enouer, of Phoenix, Ariz. They are going on to Vancouver, B. C. They all spent a delightlul day at t rater Lake Thursday and visited in Portland Monday. The school bus took 54 children out to the Roseburg Skating Rink Monday night. There were five cars going besides the bus. The Lions Club has paid the bus ex penses for four trips to the rink for the children this summer. Ted Taylor drives the bus for them. The Sunday schools help in the plans for the trips and mothers of the children go along as chaper. ons. The churches and children presented Taylor with a shirt to show their appreciation for his time and work. Taylor stated the children were well behaved on the bus and he has enjoyed it very much. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lowe attend ed the Pioneer Reunion at Maple ton Sunday where Lowe met his twin brother, Elmo Lowe, and wife of Milwaukie who came home with the Bill Lowes for a visit. Ifl Ground search parties Friday found the body of the pilot of a supersonic jet fighter which crashed and exploded on the desert near here Thursday, The Air Force said the body was found a mile east of the crash scene. Mrs. Hebard and Mrs. Card are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Warren and their three sons left Thursday morning for an extensive vacation. They will stop in Denver, Colo., to visit a brother, Bill Warren, and family and friends before go ing on to ML Pclaski, 111., and De catur, 111., to see other relatives and friends. They expect to be gone several months before return ing to a new location in Oregon. F. llartung . of Portland, Ore., to another term ' as president of the 130,000-mem-ber union. Other offices renominated at the union's annual convention here were James Dicey, Laurel. Miss., first vice president; Claude Bal lard. Seaside. Ore., second vice president, and William Batkins, Aberdeen, Wash., secretary-treasurer. Delegates rejected a resolution asking each member to contribute an additional 10 cents a month to the international. The present per capita contribution is 75 cents a month.
