Wilbur Boy Home On 14-Day Leave By ODY MOORHOUS Larry Hobbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Young, is spending a 14-day furlough in Wilbur follow ing his boot training at the San Diego Naval Base. On his return to service Larry will be sent to Reem Field Avi ation Photography unit south of San Diego for further training. Hood area where they spent a week riding the trails. Kav and Eldon Hobbs, Mr. and Mrs. Devon McCarley and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Moore, Shirley, Cindy and Harvey Dean drove to Canyonville Sunday where they picnicked at the Canvonville Park with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rishel and family. The Moores were accom panied home by Mrs. Moore's niece, Rosy Rishel, who will spend a week visiting here. No Cloud Seeding Effect Found In OSC Mudv ! CORVALL1S itfi After four years of study, researchers at Ore gon State College reported Wed nesday that there is no evidence of increased rainfall due to cloud seeding in a three-county Oregon wheat area. The study was made in the 2,-642,000-acre area of Sherman, Gil liam and Morrow counties where commercial seeding was tried starting in 1950. The study group Russell Lin coln, Fred Decker and John Day had 20-year records for compara tive purposes and when the four year study ended they said there was no evidence that the amount of rainfall was due to any cause olhe:- than nature. Ten of its small school children occupants were killed. The driver, Raymond Mooi-e, 38, was charged with manslaughter. Slightly injured, he said, "I stopped at the crossing but didn't see the train.
