ELECTRONIC CHECK RICHMOND, V. I An elec tronic weighing device is being tested by the Virginia Highway Department and Bureau of Public Roads. It will make it unneces sary for trucks with legal limits to pull aff the highway for weigh ing. But when an overloaded truck crosses the device a red lipht is flashed at the weighing station and the offending truck will be weighed on regular highway scales. WANTED! TALENT! Dunnigan and children left Thursday for Carmichael, Calif., to reside. Mrs. Dunnigan is a sister of Mrs. Paul Geddes of this city. Raturn Homt Darrel Davis came from Portland last weekend to take his wife and daughter, Dar lene, to their home there following several weeks' visit at Green with and family. To Cooi Bay Mrs. Ken Moore and two children went to Coos Bay Wednesday to visit her mother. She returned Friday but the chil dren will remain there for several weeks' visit. Back From Portland Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foyle, Mr. and Mis. Darley Ware and Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson have returned to their homes in Roseburg, follow ing a trip to Portland to attend "Holiday on Ice." Ellotts Horn Mr. and Mis. Bruce Elliott and daughter, Pa tricia, are bark at their home in Laurelwood, following a vacation at Winchester Bay. Their son, Ar thur, accompaned them and then went on to Camp Siltcoos Boy Scout Camp. The Elliotts report getting their limit in fish. EUiott is manager of the J. C. Penney Store here. Local Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Dow Sheppard and children, Roy and Corky, and Mr. and Mrs. Stan McLeod and daughter, Barbara, of Decato, Calif., are spending sev eral days at the John Brooke home at Melrose. They are touring coast points and the Columbia River vic inity in Oregon. . Accepts Position Gerald Wal lace has accepted the position of superintendent of schools in Poca tcllo, Idaho, according to word re ceived here. Wallace has been teaching at University of Oregon the last year, while completing work for his doctor's degree. Ho spent his weekends in Roseburg, where he taught the Mariner's Class at the First Presbyterian Church and several times while the pastor, Dr. James Millar, was away, he filled the pulpit. Prior to going to Eugene to be at the Uni versity of Oregon, he was assist ant superintendent of schools in Boise, Idaho.
