SECOND SECTION - ROSEBURG OREGON FRIDAY, JULY 15, 1955 165-55 Wilbur Father; Son Escape Possible Injury By ODY MOORHOUS Walt Crosier and son, LeRoy, escaped possible injury last week when they jumped from their stal led pickup just before it was struck by a train. The accident occurred at the crossing .on the Garden Valley-Winchester Road near the Rod and Gun Club. The front of the pickup received extensive damage Crosie said. Visits Friends Mr. and Mrs. Boni Yraguen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Short and family spent last week end in Medford visiting at the nome of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Unen. Mrs. R. F. Stout drove to Long Beach, Calif., recently to visit her oaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Neisj and children, Arthur and Pamela. She plans to bring ,her grandchildren home with her tor a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Coffell and daughters, Dcnise and Shannon, of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Emory Johnson of Oakland, Calif., and his wife and two - year - old daughter J3ebbv, spent 10 days visiting with the Bill Wunsch family in Glendale. Thursday they were honored by an open house and reception at the Wunsch home and had opportunity to meet a number of their old friends. The Rev. Johnson, former pas tor of the Glendale Olivet Pres byterian Church, is now serving half-time with the High Street Presbyterian Church in Oakland and spending half time in produd tion of a religious radio and TV program there. , Visits Relatives M ?3'' John Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Reed, of Glendale has been visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Mitchel, in Burlington, Wash., since the last of June. He will return home the last of July. Mr. and lrs. Pierce Furlong and daughters, Dwayila and Dar lecn, are visiting Mrs. Furlong's parents in Arkansas. Jone Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justus Taylor of Glen dale returned Saturday from a vis it with friends and relatives in Burbank, Los Angeles and Van Nuys, Calif. She was accompan ied home by Mr, and Mrs. Steven Ellis of Los Angeles who will visit with the Taylors for a couple of weeks. Judy Taylor, another daughter, is spending the summer with her aunt in Denver and will not return until August Mrs. Sally Watson of Glendale who has been visiting her daugh ters , Mrs. Hubert Day and Mrs. Lomi West, in Tennessee is en route home. She has been away since Christmas. Sgt. and Mrs. C. A. Stanfill and family were guests of his broth er and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stanfill and family in Glendale this week. Sgt. Mrs. Armstrong visited her parents who live at Turner while Mrs. La Prath at tended a state board meeting of Gold Star Mothers. Visit Friends Mr.- and Mrs. Carl Olson of San Francisco spent two days recent ly visiting with Chief of Police Eu gene Losey and Mrs. Losey. They stopped over on their way to Can ada. Olson formerly worked as a police deputy for Losey in Cali fornia. Sprains Ankl. Philip Schnitz of Glendale sprain ed his right ankle recently while working at the Robert Dollar Co. John Sheppard of Glendale re quired medical attention recently when he ran a large wood sliver into the little finger of his left hand. Mrs. Maudie Cobb of Glendale entered Forest Glen Hospital re cently for medical treatment.
