Boy From Melrose Injures Leg While Repairing Truck By NETTIE WOODRUFF Jimmie Flynn, oldest son of Mr. and Mra. J. L. Flynn re ceived i cut on a leg when a guard from a skill saw came loose and hit him. It cut his leg and took a slice out of the bone. John Brooke took him to Douglas Community Hospital where 28 stitches were taken to close the wound. He was fixing their truck bed to haul hay. Thursday Ralph E. They were on their way home from a trip to Texas. They will stop at Sherwood to visit a daughter. They have vis ited at Melrose on a number of occasions. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prince. of El Monte, Calif., were Thurs day overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Reece. They for merly resided at Little River and are touring Oregon and Washing ton. Arrives Mrs. Wallace Matthews and daughters Berneice and Deniece of lone, arriced at Melrose Thurs day evening to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. 0. Matthews and other relatives. Matthews will come down to be here over the Fourth of July, and will take his wife and daughters back home wiui nun. Miss Genena Dulley of Eugene is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Aydelolt. Mr. and Mrs. R. Z. Barker and children went to Vita, Calif., where they visited over the week end. Sunday the children went to Los Angeles to visit. Mr. and Mrs. Barker came home. Tues day Mrs. Barker left for Los An geles to join her children. They will visit with her parents. From Wisconsin Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Haffer man and daughter, Alice, from Antigo, Wis., visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dies and with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mal itz, Wednesday, leaving Thursday for Portland. Mrs. Mildred Miller of Midville, N.J., is a house guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frotsoher Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Frotsoher, are sisters. Another sister, Mrs. Francis Beguhl of Oakland, was a visitor Wednesday. ' Mrs. Annie McPherson, Medford and Mrs. Buz Carter, Paradice, Calif., were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mis'. Robert Hansen. Mrs. MoPherson, is an aunt, and Mrs. Carter, a cousin, of Mrs. Hansen. Mrs. Mildred Culver, Mrs. Em ma Vandenberg and daughter, Cheryl, and Jack Culver Sr., went to roruana rnursaay, where Mrs, Culver visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thompson. Mrs. Vandenberg and daughter shop ped. Culver will remain in Port land for a while visiting with his daughter and other relatives. Fred Waugh, has been confined to his home the past few days by illness. She had chosen the Bible as the source of her questioning. Mrs. Catherine Kreitzer, 51, who has six sons and nine grand-chu- dren, had the choice of taking the $8,000 she won last week or going for $16,000. She discussed the matter wiui her sons and their wives during the week. When she appeared on the show Tuesday night, she re marked that "the $8,000 looks like a lot- of money," and then asked for the $16,000 question. Next Tuesday night she wiH have to decide whether to take the $16,000 or try for $32,000.
