To Portland Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Buckingham left Thursday to visit relatives in Portland. They will go to Pendleton during the weekend to participate in the Li ons convention there. Back From Portland Mr. and Mrs. Homer Pattison of Roseburg spent several days in Portland this week and attended to business and enjoyed the graduation exer cises of the latter s niece. Returning Saturday Miss Janet Harpham, who will be a sen ior at Oregon State College in the fall, will arrive here Saturday to spend the weekend visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Harp ham, and will leave Monday for Trail Blazers Summer Camp at Fort Jervis, New York, for the summer months. Miss Wilshirt Home Miss Willa Wilshire has arrived for a short visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Wilshire, on Princeton Avenue, following be ing graduated from Oregon State College Monday, when she receiv ed a bachelor of science degree in the school of business and techno logy. . Visitor Loavts Mrs. P. G. Short has returned to her home in Wenatchee, Wash., . following two weeks in Roseburg visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Coy Short, and family. Former Resident Visits Mrs. Betty Wicmer, formerly a 4-H agent in Roseburg, visited recent ly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Doerner at Melrose. She is now extension agent at McMinn ville. Working At Miller's David Sylwester, who is a student at Portland Slite, is home for the summer and began his duties at Miller's store Thursday. David is a son of the Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Sylwester of this city. Hero For Three Days Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller Jr.. and children, Cameron and Wendy, of Vancouver, Wash., have arrived in Roseburg to spend three days as guests of tne former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cummins, and family. Joins Husband Mrs.- Ervin J. Darling, the former Donna Arch er, left Sunday by train from Eu gene to join her husband, A3C Ervin Darling, who is stationeu with the Air Force at Mountain Home, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Archer and family took Mrs. Dar ling te Eugene. New Parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wimer. formerly of Rose burg, and now of Coquille, are new parents of a girl, Stephanie Ella. She was born at Myrtle Point June 3 and weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces. Mrs. Wimer's par ents received notice of the birth recently. Thev are Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Johnson of Elgarose. Mrs. Wimer is the former Henrietta Johnson. Attend Session Mrs. Gordon Stewart is in Portland this week to attend the OES grand chapter meeting. She is the worthy matron of the local Eastern Star. Visit Wednesday Mrs. Dclbert Clifford and her mother, Mrs. Rose Singler, of Medford visited in Roseburg Wednesday with the former's niece, Mrs. Donald Pear son, and family, in Micelli Village. Visiting Her -. Mr, and Mrs. Jack Barrett of Cama; Wash., are guests at the home of their son-in-law and daughter M.. and Mrs. Carlton F. Hall, on Garden Valley Road. To California Dr. and Mrs. Horace G. Miller are flying to Los Angeles Friday to attend com mencement exercises for their daughter, Virginia, who will grad uate from Whittier College. Miss Miller was awarded a Fulbright scholarship. Leaves On Vacation Miss Helen Chandler, Douglas County home demonstration aijent, left Thursday on a three month vaca tion to be spent touring Ireland, England, Scotland, Greece, Aus tria, France, Switzerland, Den mark and Italy. She wtli be ac companied by a friend Barbara Winne, of Cleveland, Ohio, with whom she formerly worked in Philadelphia, Pa. To Portland Mr. and M' s. Verl Skeels and family spent last week end in Portland. They reside in Winchester. Skeels is owner of Skeels Logging Co. Move Mr. and Mrs. Wally Hector and family moved the first of the wf.ek from Roseourg to Portland, where Hector U now em ployed. He was formerly a Doug las County engineer. Attend Fostival Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Whipple left Thursday for Portland to attend the Rose Fes tival. They were accompanied by their grandchildren, Nancy and Roger Stewart and Larry and Cheryl Rawson. Visit Hero Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Dilley and children, Law rence Jr., and Michael, of Spring field, spent Wednesday in Rose burg visiting Mr. and Mrs. Shir ley Wardlc. They recently flew their private plane on a trip to the cast coast to visit relatives.
