One of the service projects ot the school was fitting of a Red Cross school chest. The chest contains school, health and recreational supplies for a school of 48 students. Arlene Horton has been president of the Junior Red Cross Council this year. The chest will be sent to Korea or Indo-china where the need is great. (Staff photo) City Center Motel Here Sold To Forrest Freid The City Center Motel, 629 S. Stephens St., has been sold by Mr. and Mrs. George V. Rooke to Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Freid of Cnilo quin. Mr. and Mrs. Rooke will man age tha court through June. They plan to take a fishing trip to Can ada next month. The transaction was handled bv F. L. Smith of Western Motels & Investments, who also annoiwced the sale of the Sequoia Motel at Portersville, Calif., to Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hagen, former own ers of Shamrock Motel just south of Roseburg. - ELECTION NOT SET $ Oakland correspondent Mrs. Edith Dunn reports the city budg et election date has not yet been set. It will be decided at a City Council meeting tonight, she said. A budget hearing, however, has been scheduled at the City Hall June 20. Winning Bidder Trlco Timber Co. of DUiard was winning bidder Monday ior 28,100, 000 board feet of national forest timber, located some 25 miles east of Tiller. The comnany paid $668,030. Forest service personnel said t was the bigest volume sale of timber scheduled for 1555. Ap praised value had been $415,880 on the timber which was mainlv Douglas fir. The 20,500,000 board - feet of Douglas- fir, had been appraised at $13.50 per 1,000 board feet. Re mainder of the volume' comprised 2,900,000 hoard fet of pine, 2,000, 000 board feet of Shasta red fir and 2,700,000 board feel of hem lock and other species.
