ARTHUR SELBY Students of Glide Hish School are rehearsing to produce the larg est and most ambitious play ever attempted at tne nign school "An Apple for Eve," a three-act farce written by Jay Tobias will be giv en early in February. Donald Brand, social science and commer cial instructor at the school, will direct. Tryouts were given to all students of the four classes. The cast, selected from fresh men, sophomore, junior and sen ior classes, includes: Jackie Biss, Paul Anderson, Harold Anjgell, Ju dy Suhrstedt, Rosa Lee Simpson, Dave Shrum, Betty Ferguson, Cora Lynn Collison, Betty Lewis, Pat Hatfield, Sally Hook, Kenneth Gibbons, Bob Gilbert and Jack Mills. Mission Aid Meets The Mission Aid of the Glide Baptist Church held a meeting Wednesday afternoon in the church parlors. Mrs. Floyd Hickman, president addressed the members and Mrs. Cecil Harris sang sever al numbers. The members then looked over the toys and clothing they had collected to be sent to the Maranatha Childrens Home at Fairbanks, Alaska.1, This orphanage home takes . care of the Eskimo children, whoso one or more par ents have died from tuberculosis. Refreshments were served fol lowing a business meeting. The forest ranger station at Big Camas closed for the winter and the personnel moved back to Glide. District Ranger Gordon Sanford, and family left Glide after a few days for Taft, Calif., to spend Christmas with relatives. Chemulf Woman Killed In Crash; 2 Men Injured BEND Wl Mrs. Mildred Beckes. 35, Chemult, was thrown to her death as the automobile in which she was a passenger ran into the rear end of a truck on Highway 97 south of here Sunday night. State police reported the car, driven by George Thomas Epper son, crasned into tne rear of tne truck on a cruve at Lava Butte, seven miles south of here. Mrs. Beckes was thrown from the car to the pavement. Epperson and Lloyd C. Haupt- man, both of Chemult, were brought to the St. Charles Memorial Hospital here. Epperson was in critical condition, hospital attendants said Monday. Hauptman was believed out of danger. The driver of the truck, Roger C. Anderson, Prineville, and two passengers, James Roy Wilson. Dunsmuir, Calif., and Mildred Marie Knipp, Bend, were unhurt.
