John son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson of Glendale, took place Sunday, Oct 3, at the McCall Congregational Church. The bride wore an aqua 'afternoon suit with a gardenia corsage. She was attended by Rosella Johnson of McCall. Best man was Everett Walton, Glendale, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The bride attended the Don-nelly-McCall High School at Donnelly, Ida., and the bride groom, who has lived in Glendale nine years, was graduat ed from Glendale High School. (Picture by G. B. Fox). MR. Bates and children, Joe, Millie June and Cathy, who moved last week from Lakeview. Mrs. Bates is a sister o Mrs. Harry Brown in Dillard. Hunters Return Harry Harryman and Stanley Harryman returned home Thurs day evening from a hunting trip In Eastern Oregon. They left last week In company with their fath er, R. B. Harryman, and John Fleck for a 10-day trip hunting around Dayville. R. B. Harryman and son operate the Texaco Dil lard service station in Dillard. Mrs. Harry Harryman and sons, Brooks and Dana, have been vis iting the former's mother, Mrs. Alene Merrifield, and her brother, John, and sister, Lila, in Lake. El sinor for the past month. They will return home soon. A trip up the coast was made Wednesday and Thursday by Mrs. R. B. Harryman, her mother-in-law. Mrs. R. B. Jackson, and Mrs. William C. Heinbach. The occa sion of the trip was to vis.it coast al fuchsia gardens but they were somewhat hampered by windy rain storms. They were overnight guests in Newport of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Willers. They visited tae Rainbow Fuchsia gardens at New port, Yorks at Seal Rock and Masseys at Florence. They came home with a large number of out standing 1954-55 varieties of fuchsias. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Solnlcka returned last week from a two weeks vacation visiting relatives in Havre, Mont. Mr. and Mrs. Sol nicka accompanied their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Heinbach Jr., and chil dren, Roger Dean and Mary Hel en, to rvir new home at Grand view. After the Heinbachs were settled the Solnickas drove into Montana. They visited his broth-, er, Joe Solnicka, and other rela tives. Returning home they trav eled by way of Tacoma where they visited their son, Don Qborn, and family. They also stopped over in Albany to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ray Solnicka and daughters, who are operating a motel there. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooie accom panied Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rutt schman and son, Roger, last Sun day on a tbur of the museum at Jacksonville. JacqucNne Mc'Fall, Infant daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mc Fa'll is ill at the family borne in Dillard with the measles. Mrs. Harry Brown has been ill at her home the past week. Mr. and Mrs. William Fish and sons, Gaylon and Glynn, accom panied by Pat Powell of Rosa burg and Sue Griffith of Riddle, went tj Medford the past weekend to visit the Fish's daughter. Mrs. Carthal Hamilton, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schneiter of Roselodge were weekend guests ol their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ruttschman. GEORGE EOES Wallace Turpin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Turpin, of Scotts Val ley, who has served the past two years in the U.S. Army, received his discharge at Ft. Lewis, Wash., Oct. 15 and is now at home with his parents. Turpin received his first six months training at Camp Roberts, Calif, and from there was sent to Korea, where he was in the front line several times. He served in Korea for 15 month? before returning to the United States. Before going in service he drove a truck for the Yoncalla Lumber Co. He will work for the company again now that ht is Lhome. Candidetea Listed Karl Hummell is the only can didate to date who is running for the position as mayor of Yoncalla. The two councilmen gunning are Noble Snider and Louie Gratz. The retiring officers, Herschel Phillips, mayor, and Elmer Cur rier and Clifford Emery, council men, do, not wish to run. Mrs. Harry Abbott was called to Cathlamet, Wash., last week due to the serious illness of her mother. Mrs. Vida Rogers spent several , days last week visiting her daugi- Mr. and Mrs. George Parks and Ernest Sinnock returned home Thursday from a successful deer hunt in Eastern Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Kirklle and Mrs. Eric Stenseth spent several days last week fishing near Scottsburg and staying at the Stenseth cabin. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ellis and two sons spent the weekend in Port land attending a wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Emmett and Mrs. Lydia Emmett of North Bend spent the weekend visiting at the Stanley Spurling home. Mrs. Lydia Emmett who has been visit ing at the Spurling home for the past tionth, returned to her borne in North Bend. Roy Dodd is recuperating at his home after undergoing a major operation at the Sacred Heart Hos pital, Eugene. Mrs. Dodd spent several days in, Eugene.
