Of much Interest to their many itosenurg inenas is me marriage of Miss Dorothy Ellen Carlson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. El mer Carlson, Portland, to Aldo Donald Parr, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Parr of Rosebure, at the Baptist Church in Portland, Aug. 7. Dr. Weldon M. Wilson performed the impressive cere mony at four, o'clock in the after . noon in the presence of 350 guests. White gladioli, daisies and stock formed the floor bouquets, which were interspersed by five candel abra holding tall white candles. Satin ribons and bows knotted with gladioli, daisies and ferns, marked the center aisle. Preceding the ceremony, William E. Elliott sang. "At Dawning," "I Love Thee," and "0 Perfect Love." The traditional wedding inarch es were played. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was very beautiful in a "Cahill" gown fashioned with a white satin bodice trimmed with alencon lace and a bouffant skirt with brush train. Her silk veil of illusion was finger-tip in length land held in place by a headpiece of matching alencon lace. She car- ried a nosegay of white roses and bouvardia. Mrs. Ronald E. Ogle. King City. Calif., was matron of honor for her sister and bridesmaids were: Miss Lyn Hartley, Miss Joanne Pendergrass, Mrs. Ralph Rydman, all of Portland and Mrs. Roger Temple of Salem. They wore waltz-length gowns of ice blue satinque. Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Marsh, Grants Pass, to Samuel J. Shoemaker, son of Mrs. S. J. Shoemaker and the late Mr. Shoemaker, of Roseburg, was told at a five o'clock dinner party at the Elks Club dining room. in Grants Pass, Friday, Aug. 20. The center piece was a long, white satin covered ring-box banked with pale pink gladioli. Inside the ring-box was a 12" gold foil engagement ring with a large white gardenia as the center stone. -At each end of the flower-banked box were pink candles to match the gladioli. During the dessert course the Petit-fours holding miniature copies of the centerpiece and bearing the names of the engaged couple, were served to Mrs. S. J Shoemaker, Mrs. Edward H. Marsh, Mrs. Alvin Bullard, an aunt; Mrs. Kenneth Winterbottom, a sister; Mrs. Paul Hoff, Marion Jackson, Evelyn McCul lough, Bernice Joyce, Melva Williams, Agnes Bolin, Martha Morrison and Claudia McFarland. The Rev. Oscar R. Lowry officiated at the impres sive double-ring ceremony at 4 p.m. in the presence of about 30 friends and relatives. The bride and bridegroom exchanged an cestral wedding rings, which were heirlooms belonging to him. As was the tradition in Bavaria tue couple inserted little fingers in one linked wedding ring. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a floor length gown of ice-blue chantilly type lace. The titled bodice had a sweetheart neckline, edged w:lh pearls and an illusion yoke with tiny puffed sleeves. The skirt was of lace over nylon net and satin. She wore a veil of ice-blue im ported silk illusion held in place pearls. Matron ot honor was Mrs. Jo seph Davis wearing a gown of beige lace in ballerina length ana a half-hat of braid and tulle. Miss Shirley Marie Stever was brides maid, she wore a pink lace bal lerina length gown with short sleeved bolero and matching slip pers. Her headdress was a pink balf-hat of braid with a tulle veil. The bride carried a bouquet o( white, carnations and curly asters showering down in sprays of rib bon and centered with two white orchids. Her attendants carried pink sweetheart roses and curly pink and blue asters. Best man was Carlvle H. Hum phrey, and Peter Geddes Jr. was usher. - Music consisted of organ solos and a vocal solo "The Lord's Prayer." The church sanctuary was decorated with palm ferns and gladioli of various colors. A reception was held in the church chapel with Mrs. Kenneth Stever, sister of the bride,- in charge. A beautiful three-tiered wed ding cake, decorated with while bells, and roses was served with other refreshments. The serving table was centered with the cake banked with talisman roses and flanked wilh crystal candle hold ers holding tall white tapers. For her wedding trip to Santa Monica and Calalina Islands the bride wore a navy blue and while summer tweed with red accesso ries and a white orchid corsag". The couple arc now at home at 932 Riverside Drive, Roseburg, whore Mr. Schneider is a sales man for Douglas Supply Co. He is the son of the late Mrs. Eliu belli A. Mus grove of Sutherlin, were married in Eugene, July 3. They exchanged vows at the home of (he bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Potter. The Rev. J. W. Stephens of the Church of Christ performed the ceremony at two o clock in the afternoon. The bride wore a gown with lace bodice over taffeta, and with nylon tulle yoke and skirt. The gown had tapered sleeves and a lace collar. Her chapel-length veil was held by a trienrn-shaped tiara. She carried orchids and stephan otis. Mr. Lucas gave his daughter in marriage. The bride's sister, Mrs. Ward Sherman, of Los Angeles was ma tron of honor, wearing a dress of orchid nylon net with flecks ot gold in the bodice. She carried a bouquet of Rose Elfe and white baby gladioli. Junior bridesmaid was Diane Lasher of Eugene, a cousin of the bride. She wore a ballerina-length dress of pink nylon and carried Rose Lite and white baby gladioli. Lt, John Musgrove Jr., of the U.S. Air Force, was best man for his brother, Ushers were Daria (, -'o 1 9 y i - Na. - The home was decorated with white delphiniums, pink daisies and pink carnations. Charles Shaw of Vici, Okla., sang "O Perfect Love" and "Through the Years," accompanied by Wally Bullard. After the ceremony, a reception was given in the garden of Mr. and Mrs. Potter's home. Mrs. Michael Tayjor of Sutherlin cut the cake, and Miss Alene Ziol kowski of Portland, Miss Betty Trommier and Miss Patricia Kuhn henn, both of Eugene, served cof fee and punch. Mrs. David Sams of Eugene was in charg of the guest book, and Mrs. Bryce Morehouse of Fair field, -Calif., was in charge of the gifts. Miss Lucas was graduated by the University of Oregon, and Mr. Musgrove by the College of Mor tuary Science at Los Angeles. The couple took a wedding trip to the Oregon Coast, the bride wearing an ice-blue faille dress with white accessories as a going awav costime.
