nard Marvin, of Seattle, Wash., as
his bride February the 19th.
Hie double ring ceremony was
performed at the bride's home in
Seattle with Rev. H. S. Palmquist,
pastor of the Nazarene Church
reading the marriage vows.
Given in marriage by her fa
ther the bride wore a tailored suit
of grey with rose pink accessories.
She carried a white Bible topped
with a white orchid and small
white wedding bells on satin
streamers.
' Matron of honor was Mrs. Dave
Tanner who wore a pink suit with
navy accessories and corsage of
pink camellia with white carna
tion. Mr, Dexter Sexton a life
long friend of Mr. Powell's was
best man. Mr. William Marvin,
the bride's brother, played the
wedding music.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Marvin chose a navy blue
suit with corsage of white camel
lia and pink carnations. Mrs. Pow
ell who attended the wedding also
wore a navy suit with corsage
of white camellia and yellow oar
nations, A reception followed immediate
ly after the ceremony with Mrs.
G. Walker cutting the bridal cake
after the first slice had been cut
by the bride.
Mrs, Powell graduated from the
Klamath Falls High School and at
tended the Nazarene College in
Nampa Idaho. Mr. Powell gradu
ated from the Roseburg High
School.
After a honeymoon trip to Can
ada the young couple are making
their home m Seattle where Mr.
Powell is connected with the Olds
mobile Agency. Mrs. Powell is
with the Standard Oil Co.

SUNSHINE CLUB RECENTLY
On Monday afternoon, the Sun
shine club met at the home of
Mrs, E. E. Bmmitt for a business
meeting and sociai afternoon. In
the absence of the president, Mrs.
R. D. Parsons conducted the
meeting. Afterwards games were
enjoyed. At the end of the after
noon a plant exchange was held.
Guest prize and second high prize
went to Mrs. Laura Savage; guest
prize and an extra prize was woe
by Miss Barbara Irvin; high prize
went to Mrs. Phil Hart; and extra
prizes were won by Mrs. R. D.
Parsons and Mrs. Wm. Stiewig.
Mrs. Lucia Ingles was honored
with a birthday gift.
Refreshments were served by

Mrs. T. E.'Luttrell, the former
Althea LaRaut, daughter of Mrs.
Vilia L. LaRaut, 1337 Hazel St.,
Roseburg, was recently chosen
"Personality of the Week" for an
issue of 'The Lance," American
hospital newspaper in Japan.
Mrs.- Luttrell is the staff dieti
cian of the hospital. Her work in
cludes planning of diets, ordering
food, checking preparation of food
and service on the wards and tak
ing care of the administrative de
tails. Besides her duties as dietician,
she spends considerable time at
the Officers Club helping organize
parties. She is responsible for the
menus, centerpieces and decora
tions, which are enjoyed at these
parties.
Mrs. Luttrell received her B.S.
Degree from University of Minne
sota, where she studied foods and
nutritions. In 1944, she entered the

that year, she sailed for Europe,
where she served 14 months. Upon
her return to the United States
in 1946, she was stationed at Madi
gan Army Hospital until 1947,
when she went to the Far East.
Upon arrival in the Far East in
March 1947, sne was assignea to
118th Station Hospital in Fukuoka,
Japan.
After serving three years in Ja
pan, Mrs, Luttrell returned to the
States for discharge. She was dis
charged in October 1951 with the
rank of captain.
In 1953. she sailed once again
to the Far East, this lime as a de
pendent and upon arrival took the
job as stan dietician, sne is me
wife of Captain T. E. Luttrell, de
tachment commander, and is the
mother of 2-year-old T. E. Jr.
