Modcsta Cabaton, pianist, played "Al ways." Lcta Fan Arnold song "Because" and "I Love You Tur ly." Lohengrins Wedding March was played. White tapers on the altar and piano, two large baskets of white stock, pompoms and white carna tions, and three baskets of mixed, colored chrysanthemums, formed the decorations. The bride, who was given in marriage by her step-father, wore a floor-length gown of white slip- ficr satin with nylon net bodice, ace sleeves and nylon net over skirt. Her veil was held by a lace halo cap with a crown of pearls. She carried a bouquet -of white roses and lilies of the valley cen tered with a white orchid. Mrs. Dclbert Davis, sister of the bride from Days Creek, was ma- MRS DON WREN IS INSPIRATION FOR FRIDAY SHOWER Mrs. Don Wren was the incen tive for a pink and blue shower given (Tiaay evening at the home of Mrs. Elbert Ball by members of .the First Baptist Church nf Riddle with Mrs. Conrad Rhonds, Mrs. Arland Dean and Mrs. Ba'.l as acting committee. Games provided diversion and refreshments wero served after Mrs. Wren had opened the many lovely gifts. ' ! 1 an orchid corsage. The formal gown of Janet Bowers, another bridesmaid, was aqua and her corsage was of white fuchsias. Flower girls were Mary Ellen Ricrward and Virginia Clifton. Mary Ellen wore a floor-length taffeta gown in light gold and a white florcttc corsage. Virginia's fioor-length gown of coral taffeta was worn with a blue florcttc cor sage. Candlelightcrs were Virginia Huffman, who wore a blue formal gown and Donna Fitzpatrick, who was gowned in a yellow formal. Tom Hall, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Walter Garland and Norman Jones. Leonard Clifton Jr., was ringbearcr. Fifty guests attended the recep tion given by Mr. and Mrs. Schwenlner at the church after the ceremony. The bride and bride groom, her parents, and Mr. and Mrs. John Thornbrue were in the rcclcving line. FS CLUB ENJOYS DESSERT-LUNCHEON A 1:30 o'clock dessert-luncheon was served to the FS Club at the home of Mrs. Emma Thomason Monday. Present were: Anna Laird, Rub le Bloom, Ethel Welkcr, Hazel Meissncr, Flela Chapman. Gert rude Hatfield, Nellie Patrick, Ma rie Martens, Alvcra Peterson and Adeanc Quist. The next meeting will be a 1 o'clock luncheon at the home of Mrs. H. T. Bloom, 801 Mill St., ucv. a. The reception table was decor ated with a three-tiered wedding cake topped with miniature bride and bridegroom and large pale pink roses. The cake was flanked by tapers and at each end of the tabic was a basket of white roses, pink gladioli and white stock. The bride's mother wore a grey dress with navy accessories and a corsage of pale pink fuchsias. The mother of the bridegroom wore a blue dress with black ac cessories and a white fuchsia cor sage. Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hall of Roseburg, brother-in-law and sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Marie Bridge of won creeK. aunt or tne bride; Mr. ana Mrs. uuy Thornbrue of Mon' mouth, grandparents of 'the. bride groom, and MK and Mrs. Harrv ihornbrue and two children of Monmouth. ; The bride has lived in Canvon- ville six years and attended Can yonville High School. The bride groom, who has lived in Canyon ville five months, attended Clover dale High School in Monmouth and was a member of the U. S. Na tional Guard and the National Guard of Oregon. McDer mott at her attractive home on South Kane Street Matching bou quets were used about the living room. Covers were placed for Mrs. R. D. Coen, Mrs. James Rich mond and Mrs. L. K. Cornwell, guests and Mrs. A. D. Parr, Mrs. S. J. Cooper, Mr. J. F. Dil lard, Mrs. Thomas Martin and Mrs. Frederick J. Porter. High scores for the afternoons contract bridge play were won by Mrs. Richmond and Mrs. Porter. DESSERT-LUNCHEON ENJOYED AT COMFORT CLUB Thursday afternoon, lovely dessert-luncheon was served to the Elgarose Comfort Club at ths home of Mrs. Jean Pankey. Fol lowing the luncheon, a lovely birth day cake and many lovely gift were presented to Mrs. Thelma Hanson. Mrs. Emilie Hargesheimer, pres ident, conducted the business ses sion, Mrs. Hanson read the sec retary's renort in the absence nf I Mrs. Brown. Plans ' were made by the club members to make and erect com munity signs in Elgarose and to help with the Bloodmobile when it comes to Roseburg. uoor prize was won by Mrs Edna Sjogren. The next 'duplicate bridge n av win take place Tuesday, Nov 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the tempi. , w - V 1 1 OBSERVE 55th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Anton Nelson, above, both in their early eighties, observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary Wednesday, Nov.- 18, at the home of their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs Harold Davidson, on Military Road. They were mar ried in Denmark, Nov. 18, 1898, and moved as a young married couple to South Dakota, where Mr. Nelson was en gaged in farming neaWhite Lake until the last few yearn They made their first trip west five years ago to Portland to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary and where they were joined by the Davidsons and their other son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Shaw, of Longview, Wash. Two years ago, they moved west and divide their time between their two daughters. They still own their property in South Dakota and make regular trips to White Lake to attend to business and visit friends. Hulbert, Mrs, Howard Stratton, Mrs. William Carrell and Mrs, Allen Seely en tertained at a charming pink and blue shower party at the Hulbert home Friday evening in compli ment to Mrs. Gus Spakousky. The serving table was centered with a miniature cradle encircled with rosebuds. Streamers attach ed to the ceiling light were at tached to the table. The fall motif was carried out in the appointments. Games were played and the door prize went to Mrs. timer behind- ler.
