Dance Bulletins
Election Night
Program Here
Roseburg citizens can dance
away their election night anxieties
from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Nov. 4.
That's when the Paul and Paula
Bunyan are holding an election
dance in the Armory.
Whether dancers like Western
or popular music they'll be ready
or popular muic, they'll be ready
for them, as they ve secured
bands of both types. The two will
alternate throughout the evening.
Dick Strayer and the All-Stars,
currently playing weekends at the
Elks, will provide popular tunes,
while Lou Franco and his Happy
Valley cowboys will put dancers
in the Western mood.
Dancers will be able to see a
large blackboard which will show
up-to-the-minute local returns.
Local, state and national returns
will be presented at each Inter
mission through the facilities of
KRNR, broadcasting direct from
the Armory, and the News-Review.
Election returns will be brought
in until trends are established.
There'll be local talent on band
at intermissions, too.
It's a come-as-you-are party,
with the Bunyans in uniform. Don
keys, elephants and other political
motifs will decorate the armory.
Concessions will be open serv
ing soft drinks, coffee and dough
nuts. Tickets, at $1 per person, may
be purchased at the door from
any Paul or Paula Bunyan, or at
Len Mitchell's, Joe Richards', or
Tipton Insurance.
Election dances are common in
many communities throughout the
United States, but this is the first
in Roseburg.

Among the more unusual plants
