A Church Sets Date For Promotions The Sunday School board of edu cation for the Camas Valley Me- uioaist Church met Wednesday evening at the church and decided to hold promotional exercises on Sunday morning, Sept. 14. Certifi cates will be awarded for ad vancement of grade or department and small exercises will be held. The grouping of children in Ihe classes has been changed slightly for next year. The pre-primary class will be taught by Mrs. Joe Kirkendall. First and second grade children will have Mrs. H. Cum- mings for their teacher. The Blue Birds, consisting of children in the third and fourth grades will be taught by Mrs. Guy Moore, and the intermediates, or filth and sixth grades, will be taught by Mrs. Ernest Wheeler. The Youth Group will consist of the seventh, eighth and ninth grades and high school. It was decided lo lot the adult group decide what lo do in their lessons. Mrs. Tom Counts was ask ed to take the place of her daush ter, Judy, as secretary-treasurer, when Judy leaves for college. The meeting was attended by the above mentioned teachers and by 'Rev. and Mrs. L. G. Weaver and Marlen Yoder, chairman of the board. Shotgun Kills Owner While He's Cleaning It KLAMATH FALLS I John Pachelu Mendy, a recent Immi grant from France, accidentally shot himself to death, police here reported Sunday. The accident apparently occurred as Pachelu Mendy was clcanin? his shotgun in his cabin about 45 miles north of ! .ere Friday night, Sheriff's Deputy Dal Reed said. The Russians seized the three Americans two officers and an enlisted man on Aug. 15 in Com munist East Germany and held them for 36 hours. Though Army headquarters at Heidelberg said no final decision had been made on Gen.
