Spitzbart, general mana ger of the 1952 exposition. "The State Fair Commission." said Spitzbart, "thought that an eye-arresting array of specially blended pastel tones applied to the various structures on me iair grounds, would give a note of newness and difference as con trasted to the all-white appearance heretofore seen by fair-goers." He pointed out that a five-man crew of painters under the direc tion of Bill Dorman of Salem, has been busy readying the buildings in their new dress of color, and will be kept busy painting right up until Fair-time almost. "With in our budget limitations," he added, "we are dong this job at no little expense so that our vis itors may see their Oregon State Fair at its most colorful best. Dorman, contractor in charge. estimated that some 50,000 square feet of surface will nave been re painted by the time his crew com pletes its task. In the painting, some 1500 gallons of oil-base paint, made in Salem by the Norris-Walker Paint Co., would be utilized.
