Yet reports repeateBly re com ing in by persons all over the na tion saying they have seen strange objects in our skies. Arthur Marsh, prominent farm er of the Lookingglass area, re ports having seen what he called a "fireball" about 10:20 Wednes day night. Marsh says he had been milk ing late- when he observed a strange object, about "half the size of a new moon" traveling at a "high rate of speed." The object, which appeared to have a very white center ringed with red, was easterly from his place, about 10 to 15 degrees above the horizon, and traveling in a northerly direction. He described its speed as about that of a falling star. This is the second report of a similar nature in the Roseburg area, and ties in closely with sim ilar reports over the nation with in the last couple of weeks. Gerald Burgess of Weatherford Apartments, Oak and Lane Streets, reported having seen about 10 p.m. Sunday, July 6, round objects, some 10,000 feet in the air and tra veling about 10 minutes time apart. He described them as giving off an eerie, blue light. They appeared approximately 100 miles northeast of the airport, and traveling at a high rate of speed. He estimated their speed at around 1000 miles per hour, as compared with the speed of a plane, which flew over about the same time.
